Why is that, you ask?
Because 2024 was all about QUALIFYING for the CLQ Championship and we just did that. The Top 15 teams from a field of 201 teams are now eligible to compete for over $50,000 in the CLQ Championship, which will be held at Park MGM in Las Vegas on the weekend of March 21-23. This is going to be a 15-Team Auction League and we'll pay the Top 3 finishers from this pool of $50,000+. There's no entry fee needed. These Top 15 teams just need to show up at the auction in Las Vegas and top this All-Star class of owners to win the top prize of $30,000.
Again, 201 owners joined this "Side Challenge" contest, using the results from one of their designated Main Event teams, one of their designated Rotowire Online Championship teams and one of their designated Draft Champions teams. Points were accumulated from each team and the Top 15 overall qualified for the Las Vegas Auction league. Owners had to designate their teams before leagues were drawn or draft spots were announced. We don't yet have a final date for the CLQ Championship League, but we'll figure that out soon and we hope to make this a very high-profile league via podcasts and livestreams out in Las Vegas.
Okay, now onto the results. Dustin McComas had the top team and it probably makes sense for him to choose his nomination spot first, right? The order of finish could be used for the nomination orders, but I'll check with the CLQ Board of Directors!!! Anyway, here were the top 15 owners who are invited to Las Vegas for the debut CLQ Championship League:
