Good morning everyone. We are two weeks away from many of you flying to Las Vegas and just a little more than two weeks before hosting live events at Park MGM in Las Vegas. I can't wait to see everyone.
Today I have an announcement about our Saturday, March 22nd, 11 am Las Vegas Main Event leagues. As you know, this is our marquee event of the weekend as we'll have 8 full leagues drafting at once at Park MGM. It's going to be a ton of fun.
We'll kick things off at 10:50 am with the introduction of our NFBC Hall of Famers and past national champions, while introducing five defending NFBC national champions who will be with us that day. One of them is Clark Olson, the defending Main Event champion and our newest NFBC Hall of Fame inductee!! That will be a great start to the day.
The only drawback to hosting at Park MGM this year is that we don't have one big ballroom like we had last year at the Mirage. The Mirage closed, as you know, and space was incredibly tight for that weekend in Las Vegas, with Park MGM having great but not perfect space. We will have 8 ballrooms all on the first floor of the Park MGM Convention Center, but there will be a wall separating three leagues from another three leagues with two leagues across the hall. The buffet will be in the middle for all to choose and everyone will have access to see all of the boards at the conclusion, but unfortunately we'll be slightly split up. Again, space is tough in Vegas these days, but you will still be able to hear multiple leagues drafting at once.
Anyway, here's the news I want to present today. This Saturday Main Event time slot is really the only time when we have multiple live Mains going at once, so we want to be as transparent as possible with the draft selection process. So for this time slot only, here's what we're going to do:
** I will host a League Selection show on our High Stakes Fantasy Network YouTube channel on Sunday, March 16th at 2 pm ET. I will have poker chips with names of everyone signed up by that date randomly mixed in a bin and I will pick them out one by one live for all to see on YouTube. I will have a graphic that will show every selection for League 1 as they happen, for League 2, etc. until all full leagues are picked. This will be live on Sunday, March 16th. Every league will be seen as picked randomly live on YouTube. This has the potential to be a lot of fun....as long as I do it right!!!
** Now the draft spot selection is another issue. The only way I could then determine the draft spots after randomly picking the leagues is to manually go on everyone's team pages and manually do this. It would push up the KDS deadline one day to Sunday at 8 am ET and everyone would have to lock in their KDS choices at that time, again one day early. Is that okay?
** I'd probably need to take a break after the League Selection Show to manually run KDS and then come back on after an hour or so to announce the Draft Spot Selection Show for each league. It's doable, but not easy. We'd then email everyone their draft spots that afternoon and they'd have six days to prepare for those draft spots. Is that okay?
** The big problem is that these leagues are set up to electronically run KDS for each league on Monday at 11 am PT. So people would get that email the next day and see different draft spots than what we told them the day before. We'd also then manually have to go into each league and change to the correct draft spots, which we can do, but again has to be done manually.
I guess we'd just have to tell people to ignore that Monday email and really email everyone each day with their actual draft spots that we ran live on YouTube. Again, would that be too confusing? Would it make things worse? Or is seeing the Draft Selections Live on Sunday better?
I'll have Mike Massotto with me on YouTube commenting about the league selections and players, so we'll make it fun. We can have up to 10 guests on with us as well if anyone wants to join us for some commentary!! But again, I'm worried about the confusion of the Monday email and about me manually looking up 120 KDS preferences on Sunday, but I'll do it if everyone thinks this process is the most transparent and enjoyable.
I'm looking for feedback on this process because this is completely new and could be confusing to some, while very enjoyable for others. I've already emailed everyone in this league with this idea and I'm waiting for feedback from them. But feel free to post positive or negative thoughts to this process and I'll finalize everything before I fly to New Jersey next Thursday. Thanks all and good luck in all your leagues this year.

Greg, I think this is awesome.
Yes, some are going to bitch and moan because they ignored or didn't read your email completely, but this kind of brings me back to the early years monitoring the message board looking for your league and draft pick. Again...awesome!

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Re: Las Vegas Saturday Main Event League Selection Show
We now have 118 of 120 spots filled in the Las Vegas NFBC Main Event on Saturday, March 22nd at 11 am PT. Next two signups will close off this date and time.
It will also allow us to randomly pick the eight leagues with everyone represented on Sunday, March 16th. We'll do that at 2 pm ET on our High Stakes Fantasy Network YouTube channel. Man, that should be a lot of fun and wild as well.
Can we fill up these last two spots by next Sunday? Are you still on the fence about joining these leagues on that day? Well, food, drink, coffee and a good time is promised and the buffet has already been ordered. Short ribs buffet is on the menu, and if you were at our NFFC live events in September you know that's NOT ONLY A GOOD ONE, BUT A GREAT ONE!!!
Now sign up and close out this 8th Main Event league!!!

Re: Las Vegas Saturday Main Event League Selection Show
The first day of the debut "Godfather Games" in Robbinsville, New Jersey was a rousing success!!! We hosted the $1600 Auction Championship league at 10 am and the $2500 Auction Championship league at 4 pm ET.
It was great to see so many familiar East Coast faces who always showed up for the New York City Auction leagues arriving again here. This is a fantastic location for many of our die-hard East Coast auction players and we'll definitely be returning in 2026. Great job yesterday everyone as we got through both auctions in less than 4 hours and with the reserve rounds we were done in under 4 1/2 hours for both leagues.
Today we have another great day planned with Main Event drafts at 10 am and 2 pm ET, with the MTM Ultimate League scheduled to start at 6 pm ET. That league will be aired by Scott Jenstad and Toby Guevin and I believe livestreamed on the Rotowire YouTube channel. Check it out for sure because they will have the draft board live as it happens with great commentary. Tune in.
Also, tomorrow at 2 pm ET, Mike Massotto and I will pick the eight Las Vegas Main Event leagues live on our High Stakes Fantasy Network YouTube channel. We will just be picking the selection of each league and the 15 members in each league. I have a feeling Mike will provide the commentary on the toughness of each league, but we're also looking for guest appearances as well. If you'd like to jump in with us at any point to talk about your league or this league selection show or anything else, email me at [email protected].
I'll send you the studio link tomorrow and just have a good mic and camera and we'll pull you on air at the right time. We can host 10 people at a time in our StreamYard studio, so the more the merrier. I'd love to get many of you on the air with us. Just shoot me an email, I'll contact you tomorrow and we'll figure out the right time to get you on air with me and Mike.
Thanks all and we look forward to this League Selection Show live on YouTube. See ya tomorrow.

Re: Las Vegas Saturday Main Event League Selection Show
OKAY, THIS IS HAPPENING TODAY!!!
The NFBC Main Event Las Vegas League Selection Show will start at 2 pm ET on our High Stakes Fantasy Network YouTube channel. I'll also stream it on my Twitter account. This will be the first time we've ever livestreamed the league selections of the eight Las Vegas Main Event leagues that will be drafting on Saturday, March 22nd at 11 am ET.
You can find it here, and subscribe to our channel to get alerts to when this show and other shows are appearing:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXYCJJ ... Sb-VngrVBw
We are only picking the leagues today. We have 120 different poker chips with everyone's name on one of them and I'll pick them one by one and then type those names on the screen under Las Vegas League 1, Las Vegas League 2, etc. You will see me pick the chips, hear me announce the names on the chips and then see the names on the screen of the owners in each league. Myself and Mike Massotto will do this at his mansion and we'll both comment on the leagues and the players in each league. We're looking for guest appearances and will post the studio link in the Live Chat section of our show. I think Hall of Famer Shawn Childs will join us and we hope to add more of you.
We will NOT be announcing any draft spots. In fact, the order that you are picked out of the hat today won't affect anything with KDS. Tomorrow at 11 am PT, KDS will run on the NFBC site and you'll get draft spots at that time.
Today you will learn who is in your league.
Tomorrow you will learn what draft spot you have in that league. Today's order of selections will have NO EFFECT on KDS tomorrow. Sound good?
Okay, we've never done this before and we don't have a producer for this show. It's just me and Mike somewhere in his New Jersey basement picking poker chips with names on them and us announcing them and then typing them on the screen. It's all live, it's all transparent and heck, it's all possibly going to go wrong!!!
But I think we've got it figured out and will have some fun.
Thanks all and join us today or watch later tonight. Either way, I promise you'll have some fun and learn a little more about each league and the participants in those leagues. Thanks.

Re: Las Vegas Saturday Main Event League Selection Show
Thanks Wayne. You are correct, that felt like the early days of the NFBC Main Event draws when we would post them on the Message Boards and everyone was on the boards to see who was in their leagues. There were so many people online at that time that it slowed/crashed our Message Boards!!! Those were the days.Edwards Kings wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 2:50 pmGreat job on the league selection video...I really enjoyed it.
