How's The Draft Champions Leagues?

This year for the first time we ran a pair of NFBC $500 Draft Champions Satellite Leagues. It was an interesting concept that was proposed by our members where teams would draft 40 players and there would be no free agent pickups during the season. Players could set their starting lineups each week, but for the most part what you drafted is what you had for the season.
Both leagues appear to be very competitive and I'm looking for some feedback from the folks who are in those leagues. Do you like the concept? Has it been worth your time and energy? Is this something we should plan again for 2008? Should we host these DC drafts earlier in the year or is the weekend before Opening Day still the best time?
Just looking for feedback as it seems like a great way to compete in another league without all of the Sunday hassles. Good luck to the 30 owners currently in this league format and thanks for any feedback you can give me.
