Roids in the 80's California Angels style

The Califorina Angels in the 80's had some of the oldest lineups around. They always seemed to play beyond thier years. Still nothing was as suprising as a young catcher named Brian Downing.

A slim young catcher who lead the league in Batting average but not much else. Within 2 years he was a power hitter with the nick name Hulk.

A player that also was there at the time was Don Baylor. Another power hitter. He went on to manage at Colorado and Chicago. Not to point fingers but you can look it up and connect the dots. Maybe it wasn't the Rockie high that sent all those balls out. Just a good manager.
