Jeff Thomas of www.sportsbuff.com and Kenosha, Wisconsin becomes our 55th NFBC original member to join us for NFBC V as he's returning to Chicago for the third straight year after competing in Las Vegas the first two years. We'll have a nice black NFBC Charter Member hat waiting for JT along with the other original members. Welcome back all.

If you're an NFBC original member and you want your team name scripted on your hat free of charge, you must contact me before Feb. 15th to get this done. We'll then bring the hats to each draft city and hand them to you at Registration. Right now I have Rick Gromek working on the following hats, so if you're not listed here please e-mail me at [email protected] with the team name you want scripted and we'll get it done. If you want additional hats with the scripted team name, we'll add $20 to your NFBC bill. Thanks all.

I'm glad to see that Vern Neumann of Hales Corners, Wisconsin is back with us in 2008 for the main event in Chicago. Vern was an NFBC original member in 2004 and he competed after that as well, but last year he couldn't make it for a fourth season. But he's back for NFBC V and that is definitely worth a Charter Member hat!!

It's good to welcome back our original grand champion for a fifth straight season as Artie Rastelli of Hoboken, New Jersey returns for NFBC V!! Artie won the first $100,000 grand prize out of New York and he returns to the New York venue once again. Pete Lukowicz of Manalapan, New Jersey also signed up for the main event over the weekend as we now have more than 1/3 of the original main event owners back for a fifth straight season. Pretty cool.

Time to get stitching the hats. Remember, e-mail me what you want stitched on the side of your hat if you want the team name there. Thanks all of my loyal original members.

Not to confuse the issue and purpose of this message board thread, but is there anyway for us juniors and sophomoric's to order a hat with the NFBC logo and team name stiched on it? If so, how much?

Yes you can. Go to www.themainethread.com. I'm not sure what the cost for hats is, but it should say it there and then you can add the script for the team name. Rick Gromek is doing this for us and I'll contact him tomorrow for more details and post them here.

There's a Will Robertson sighting as we have now added our 68th team back for a fifth straight season of competition. It wouldn't be the same to have Pete Lukowicz without Will Robertson in the NFBC.

We're glad to welcome back our 69th NFBC original member back to NFBC V as Jay Bufis of Kendall Park, New Jersey is returning to New York for a fifth straight season. Jay is stepping up his participation this year as he's competing in the main event with partner John Burke and in the $1,300 Mixed Auction League. We now have 13 owners for that Mixed Auction League in New York on Friday, March 14th, leaving us with only TWO open spots. Thanks Jay and I'm VERY happy that you decided to return again.

Order up two more NFBC Charter Member hats for Jay and John!!
