The guy that did that YOU TUBE video floated some bogus info. Always trust Shawn Childs, except at the casino when betting on the ponies.

To early to tell the winners and losers but it was interesting to see how just a "lil" noise about Albert Pujols has him dropping to the #7 spot.

Surprised to see Johan last until the middle of the second round. However, with a solid group such as this it DOES make alot of sense. Taking a Pitcher that early, even an arm of Johans standing puts you in a rough position to achieve the Offense needed.

Are we placing to much value on these SS's this season? Hmmmmm

great looking 1st four rounds. my biggest Q. is why has PAPI fallen as far as he has. he's been one of the most dependable hitters in baseball for the last 4 years. guaranteed approximately .300+, 40+, 125+, 110+, minimal SB, and an OPS over 1.000. you can use CT%, BB%, batting EYE and he excels, plus he's only 32. is braun such a better pick because of SB's

Damn...is it just me, or does the top of the draft (first 3 rounds) just seem to be heavy on talent?

Damn near all those players are studs.

Juicy!

If I get some time, I'll come up with a post-draft video detailing my picks, why I made them, and some good and bad picks of others.

Anyone interested in seeing something like that.

[/QUOTE]yeah, it's tough tying up that Ut slot with those stats. kinda like taking a SP in the first couple rounds isn't it?

GG would be interested in another youtube video.

Personally Fielder to 14 was real sweet for my buddy Ken.

Round 2 held true to form with the exception of Ichiro.

Round 3 Markakis,Tulo and Byrnes getting some early love in the third. Lee falling down to the bottom of the third was surprising along with Manny falling into the fourth.

Round 4 most owners thinking to get Kinsler around 4.10 wasn't happening in this draft and what surpised me the most was Beckett and Webb sliding into the fourth. If either one is there for me around 4.7 I'm taking them.

I think this was a real good draft by some good owners who fimly believe in drafting offense first. I think in the main you will get some drafting of pitchers early... both SP's and Rp's. I think that Beckett and Webb are gone either at the end of three or just right after the turn at four...minimum of two relievers get chosen in the fourth(Nathan,Papelbon) and you might see the name of Hunter Pence taken in that round also.

Great stuff guys !!! Good luck !!!

People are picking Alex Rios and Magglio Ordonez way too early I think... and how do you take Vernon Wells and his inconsistency when Hafner, Beckett, Webb, and Sabathia are still on the board?

Good value on Soriano at the end of the 1st and Ichiro at the beginning of the 3rd I think.

OK, why did I take Braun at 11 over Ortiz? He plays 3B, after 10 games in he will be 3B/OF; I am pretty certain he can replicate 2007; for me, what is not to like. What is the huge difference between him and David Wright (#4)? About 13 steals? I'll take Braun at 11/12 all day; The only way I don't take him is if Utley drops to 11 (which 9 out of 10 he doesn't)

The lack of a 3rd/4th round closer run seems to be the norm in a lot of the early drafts so far. Will the trend continue into the main?

Wright has performed well for more than one season in the bigs. Braun hasn't even played a full one yet.

Wright is playing the same position he played last season. Braun will inevitably have some problems adjusting to the OF, a'la his replacement at 3B. Stats are bound to suffer due to this adjustment.

Wright doesn't have a high probability for a sophomore slump. Braun will need to make adjustments to how the pitchers adjusted to him in the offseason. Can he do it? You might be paying a lot to see if he can.

Braun's obviously going to put up decent numbers, but I wouldn't compare him to Wright just yet.

Greg, most of the chatter is over at the post GG started in Fantasy/MLB talk. However, I'll throw out some here:

Troy Glaus gets traded to a team with a worse offense and a much more difficult HR park, and yet he jumps 80+ spots since the first mag draft? Is the grass in STL that soft?

Can someone tell me where I went wrong (if i did)in the first 10 rounds? Mother, you're up first... 1. Markakis

2. Kendrick

I like em both, but not where you took them. There's no way Kendrick returns 6th round value, but if you want him, take him.

Same with Markakis, no way he performs the way he should getting selected that high.

3. Soto, he will be the BIGGEST disappointment on your team due to where you took him. Do you really think he even hits close to 300??

Other than these, I like your first 10 and other than Soto, I would be more than happy to have them on my team....actually a few are my target players.

I like your offense, but think your pitching staff is going to break your heart. To many risks with little upside IMO. I know a lot of people see upside, but I don't. If there's one thing I know, it's pitching. And you know you can manicure a pitching staff.

If you like him, you have to take him exactly where I did.

2. Soto didn't just dominate in his short ML audition. He steamrolled triple a pitching the WHOLE year. Lot more legit in my mind. I'll take a .290 avg and 18+ homeruns from him.

3. You may think you know pitching, (and no disrespect intended) but I KNOW pitching. Saunders, volquez, and the SD starter (prior or germano) are ALL good plays where I got them.
