Been out a while and I was wondering how many total teams we have for the Main event? & if possible the breakdown by city.

Looks like 238.

Greg has them broken down on the NFBC sign ups thread.

238 is correct and you can see all of our signups for all of our leagues in the pinned thread atop this forum (as well as all of the signups for our satellite leagues).

Corked bats I update every signup on the NFBC Signup Thread as they come in. I've just gotten WAAAAAY behind on introducing each signup, but I'll get to all of them starting next week.



We have 238 teams signed up for the main event, leaving us with 152 guaranteed spots left. Here's the breakdown:



LV: 110 teams (7+ leagues)

NY: 65 teams (4+ leagues)

CHI: 34 teams (2+ leagues)

Orlando: 29 teams (1 away from 2 full leagues)



We are two full league ahead of where we were last year at this time, which is a great sign. We are also ahead on auction league signups and satellite league signups at this point and we already have three full Ultimate Leagues and a full NFBC Super Draft League. We're excited about the fast start, but the best is yet to come.



I feel very confident that the main event will sell out for the fourth straight year. New York signups will begin to take off soon like they always do and we're already off to a great start in Orlando and Chicago. I could see 4-5 leagues in Chicago and 3 full leagues in Orlando before all is said and done.



Don't wait too long if you want to get in as spots will fill fast once the Super Bowl is finished.

The Orlando Visitors and Convention Bureau is abandoning all of its marketing efforts with relation to Disney and Universal. The new add campaign is centered around the catch phrase...

Saw there are over 7,000 members on this website. Quite impressive. I think eventually you will see celebs getting involved, near future, maybe 2 or 3 years. NFBC is growing. Will never have the popularity of the World Series of Poker (probably because it's not made for TV) but it certainly is the World Series of Fantasy Baseball and that is something to truly be proud of.



I'd be curious to hear if this event could ever be televised and if Greg has ever been approached with such an idea. Maybe we'd have to start out with an experts league. If not television, youtube (somebody has already brought up) could surely bring more popularity to the genre/high stakes NFBC.



Why not hire somebody to film a Main Event draft and post it on youtube? Might create a bigger buzz for 2009 if people "see" how everything works.

Maybe we'd have to start out with an experts league. Sam Walker, author of Fantasyland has sold the movie rights to Hollywood and there will be a film crew at Tout Wars, filming a documentary, with a yet-to-be-announced fantasy enthusiast picking up where Sam left off.

Word got out to all the major forums before the application deadline, though BBHQ was the only site the producers contacted directly, far as I know.

Then you had to send a tape of you answering other questions. I haven't heard back on that, which probably means "not no, but hell no".
