A great deal of luck and overachieving players like Ryan Braun, James Shields, Kelvim Escobar, Takashi Saito and Jose Valverde.

Taking hitting early, with Utley, Teixeira, Furcal, Delgado, Matsui, backed by 2 front line starters with Felix Hernandez and Kelvim Escobar.

4. Were there any draft day strategies, which did not pan out?

Drafting bums like Ensberg, Anthony Reyes, Contreras, Laird, Gibbons, Punto, Zach Duke did not help.
