Thinking of scrapping my archaic paper system and going with some draft software I've been checking out. I'm not a laptop guy and the battery issue concerns me.

Seems the best battery usage I can find is with a 9 cell that can get 3-5 hours (or so they say). That doesn't seem to cut it for a long draft.

Does shutting down during the draft affect your draft info?

Does changing a battery and killing the power completely affect it?

Guess I'm not too proud to ask what may be stupid questions....

Buy a spare battery for your laptop. Even better, get two of them, and change the battery after the 10th and 20th round breaks. You'll have absolutely no worries about running out of juice, and the breaks provide an excellent opportunity to switch the power cells.

Thanks for the reminder, as I need to get an additional battery myself!

[/QUOTE]The final projections that I use on draft day are my own. However, I do look at several sets of numbers -- mostly to assess how the majority of my competitors will rate the players.

Thanks for the info. Did some shopping today and I was surprised that with most lower cost laptops ($499 - $799) they say 2 to 2 1/2 hours of juice. Damn - kind of defeats the purpose of a laptop if you basically have to plug it in for optimal use.

You probably already know this but just in case... for example, my laptop has 3 options for the battery,

high performance

balanced

power saver

Although it dims the brightness of the screen, I usually get another hour of battery life on a lower setting...might enable you to get by on 1 spare instead of 2 on draft day.

KOQ: After your load those projections into your computer, try not to forget the laptop on da plane or in your car. ;)
