Arrival/Departure Days

Post by Purple Helmets » Tue Feb 19, 2008 7:04 pm

Just trying to get a read on what days most Vegas participants are arriving and departing. Finalizing my travel plans and wondering when the best opportunities will be to down some beers with the masses.

Arrival slated for WED night.

Hoping to CATCH the crew on Thursday and twist some arms over to the VENETIAN Sportsbook for some hoops, ponies, and cold brews.

Not necessarily in that order.

See everyone in three weeks!! :D If you're looking for fun before the draft on the weekend, come on in on Thursday and join everyone for drinks and gambling on Thursday night at the Flamingo sportsbook. If that's too small of an area for our group, we'll relocate across the street, but the price of drinks at the Flamingo (free if you keep gambling) is right for this group!!! :D We should have 30+ folks there that night for smart talking, horse betting, basketball betting and anything else and like I said we'll find a bigger spot at Caesar's or the Venetian if needed.

I can hardly wait!!! :D Get me OUT OF THIS FROZEN TUNDRA!! :D

Atta boy Greg.........Get your stamp on the Venetian! They will follow you.

Gotta stay until MONDAY this year. The NCAA Selection show is on Sunday afternoon and the March Madness hoops lines/futures will be up on Monday.

This way, when you hit a wager you'll have a legit excuse to return in August for the NFFC to cash!!!!! Yur wife doesn't have to know that you can mail in the winning tiks!

Sack, You must be staying at the Venetian. I know the CDM crowd has hung out there in the past.

But CP is right across the street. Not a shabby

sports book. Easier to stumble home to the pink bird than trying to catch a taxi from the Venetian. :D

Walla - I'll be at the Flamingo. Years ago, CP had the best book for atmosphere but since they remodeled they have taken alot of the charm and seating area away. They do have those great giant screens, but I still think VENETIAN is tops because they have both.

I'll follow the crowd. Can't argue with your logic about the cab. ;)

Of course, there is Planet Hollywood Casino to bet and watch sporting events. And if anyone is interested in playing poker, they have daily tournamnets at 10am, 2pm, 7pm and 2am....only $60 entry fee.

Forget Planet Hollywood, I'm going to the Aladdin. Funny how they have 10am, 2pm, 7pm and 2am poker tourneys too.

Speaking of horse picks, I have spent years of my life at the rails of Laurel, Pimlico, Charles Town, etc. My grandfather started me at a young age. He would play a 1-6 exacta box every race. My first son was born on 1-6, my second on 11-1-06. Last year, I play a 1-6, 1-6, all on the first race to go off at the book. As the race is about to go off, I see one finishing at another track, and it's 1-6-4, and ends up paying over a grand for a buck. Even when I'm right, I'm wrong. Or 30 seconds late.

I'm at the pool on Thursday morning drinking something with an umbrella in it during the morning as I see sun for the first time in 2008. Anyone with a body better than Fred Flintstone's can join me if they'd like. Otherwise, any time in the afternoon you'll find a contingent in the Flamingo sportsbook betting on anything that moves. Late afternoon is a great time to gather for drinks and to see if we need a bigger locale. Sound good?
