Okay, we're in a good mood today and it's almost cocktail hour. Not only that, but the Iola Thunderbirds won their first game at the Wisconsin State Basketball Tournament and now play on Saturday night for the state championship among small schools. Does it get any better than that? I'm going to the Kohl Center on Saturday night, so let's get these draft picks out of the way tomorrow.
We'll answer questions you may have for the next hour or so since 100+ folks have been on the boards today. For you lurkers, ask away and maybe you can secure one of those last two spots in the main event. I know that someone is getting them, that's for sure.
Okay, who wants to talk?

Ok, I'll bite. The Iola Thunderbirds won "their first game" and now are their playing for the state championship Saturday. Does that mean there are only 4 schools in the small schools championship or maybe 3 schools and the 1st place team gets a bye in the semi-final round? LOL

Only four schools in that division. Saturday night is the championship game.

Scott Kelnhofer will be running the show in Chicago. He'll also deliver plenty of fun for those attending the Windy City.

To me, that would be helpful to kind of target the players I want and then decide which spot in the draft I'd need to achieve that. So it's unwise for me to list my preferences when I really haven't jumped into those ADPs.
But I've told others that I would have no problem with 1,2,3. The Mets may be a mess right now, but I just like A-Rod, Reyes and Wright at the top of the draft. Then I could see going to the middle and honestly the bottom is very interesting. I've seen several satellite league teams take Crawford-Sizemore, which is an interesting start. Eddie did that on Tuesday and followed with two big boppers and I found that interesting. The Top 20 players are mighty strong, so 11-15 is interesting early.

You seemed a lot less stressed in getting all the teams together this year. Experience or everything coming together easier than in past years?

[/QUOTE]Nope. The spreadsheet is the official KDS list. That's what we'll be using when we pick the draft orders tomorrow.

Well, you are correct that things have worked out much better this year and the stress level is much better. Having a Blackberry makes life easier for both of us here as it always seemed like we were missing phone calls, missing potential signups, missing questions online, etc. To think we did this the old fashioned way in 2004 and 2005 is like looking at pictures of Brett Favre as a rookie and how he looks today.
The NFBC has been so much smoother because we received so many early signups. It's less stressful when you can just tell that you're going to reach your projected levels months before the deadline. Selling out some of the Ultimates and auction leagues early just makes the rest easier for us. If anything, the satellite leagues are more stressful as we now have 50+ leagues to manage within a 4-week window.
Now we're trying to do something to make recruitment of new teams easier. With any luck, we'll be able to reach that goal soon enough.

Too bad you can't make it so it's not visible after the deadline. Someone will change it tonight, and wonder why......

However, we have so many folks who are asking their wives or girlfriends or buddies to work that we honestly had to turn workers away. If those folks aren't pretty enough, don't blame us. Blame your NFBC peers for not marrying up!!
We want workers who know the sport and paying the spouses of our members to work is a good benefit to everyone. I agree the eye candy can be special -- and I encourage Jesse and Dustin to do that again in the WCOFF this year!! -- but right now we are set in all four cities with solid workers for every event.
