Plan For Inputting Rosters

Just so everyone knows, we have our entire sports division staff entering NFBC rosters from the live drafts right now. We have several leagues done already and they have been sent to STATS. We should have all of the leagues entered before the end of the day, maybe even before the end of the morning. It will then take STATS a little time to link these rosters up with all of your teams on the web site, but I trust it will be done shortly.

If you see that your league is live, feel free to post here so that others can get a sense when things are flowing into the league sites. Then look over your roster carefully and make sure that every player you have is correct. It's very possible that a mistake in entering a player code number happened and we want to update everything as soon as possible. The free agents will be available for bidding next Monday and we want to make sure we have the right free agents in each league. If you find a mistake, contact me or Tom at [email protected] or [email protected].

Next week, if you have any players in the Japan series involving Boston and Oakland you must have them in your Week 0 starting lineup before the first game is played to get those stats. You also must have your lineup set that includes the Sunday night game as those results will also fall under Week 0's results. Then on Monday morning your lineup needs to be set five minutes before the first game for all of the games in Week 1.

That's the game plan. Now back to typing in four-digit numbers!! :D

thx for the update greg.

first class event again this year!

too bad one specific person in NY had to rain on many of our parades. that guy should be banned from future events. he was an embarrassment to everyone. i feel bad (esp for the newbies) that had to endure him.

I imagine the room in NY was as big as Vegas. That guy must have put on quite a show if he was that bothersome!! Or was he in your league, making it more pronounced?

Not that I'm a menacing force to be reckoned with ...but why did everyone allow the bothersome to continue?

All I know is that when I took a bathroom break I ran into a six foot five guy that was very close to laying the hammer down  , thankfully for the loud guy he talked to Tom instead and he seemed to be quieter after that. That would have been ugly.
yeah, we were all fiddling with our dresses hiding under the tables  I for one was there to draft and tend to avoid drunken igits as long as they don't personally accost me. I'm sure I'm not alone in that regard.

We were all busy! Truth be told, I was hoping that the drunken screams would distract others from taking Cueto. Sure enough, he went right before I was going to take him at the 17/18 turn.

All of the live event leagues have been entered and sent to STATS. It will take STATS some time to get this done, but the good news is that the data entry part is done!!! Look for leagues to start flowing in soon enough and then everyone will have a chance to look at all of the live event drafts from across the country. Hopefully we'll get an ADP list compiled from all of the live drafts as well before Opening Day. Those should be very interesting to look at too.

Thanks to all our facilitators who did such a good job with the small boards. No problems at all and we could read all of the write-ins. Good job to FJ Fantasy Sports as well. There were far fewer write-in stickers this year, which makes our job easier.

What the heck, thanks to everyone in the NFBC!!! :D I'm feeling very chipper and congratulatory right now. :D
Totally true, we were on the FAR other side of the room and you could hear him. I am shocked nobody got in his face in his league. Maybe they did, I don't know, but that was ridiculous.

My buddy and I walked over after the draft to find him passed out at the table with his hand in his hands. People pay a lot of money for this competition, no reason to be disrespectful and act like that.

Definitely the most annoying thing I've seen in 4 years of the NFBC.

Couldn't somebody at least steal his drink tickets?

As soon as you heard his name there was a ripple effect.

We were all busy! Maybe this was HIS draft plan...to foil everyone in N.Y. If he wins the 100K this season, I can only imagine every draft next season. :D

The real question is....did you see that BOMB by Lastings a few moments ago? I think he just moved up the draft day ranks. ;)
When Ari Benjamin took Cueto from BOTH of us in Round 15 on Sunday, didn't you just have to laugh? It was painful, but pretty damn funny.

Agree 100% on the ripple effect.
As someone who sat next to Scott for 7 hours on Friday and about 20 feet away on Saturday, I can say that he may have been loud and a bit tipsy, but he was never out of control. In that, I don't think he upset anyone's draft.

I enjoyed the auction/draft MORE this year than any other year and he was part of the reason why...

Sure, no one should drink like that, but he was really harmless.

This was my first year in the NFBC and i sat directly next to Scotty the Lightweight (I had the Kruk jersey on). It was single handedly the funniest draft i ever participated in and my draft partner still are laughing about him taking Jeff Baker 3 different times. If you can't handle an obnoxious scream every now and again I don't think you were ready for the draft to start with.

I like to see reason prevail over "banishment" cries!

It's like the best man who passes out during a wedding ceremony. It puts a "stamp" on an event...allowing for easy recall years down the line. Without it...the wedding/draft may just blend together with all the rest, and not be memorable.

Like a scar on the forehead...it may not be pretty...and may have hurt a bit...but it adds character! :D
