Should We Return To The NY Sheraton?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Mar 20, 2008 5:18 am

This was our first year at the New York Sheraton after two years at the Javitts Center and two years at the New York Hilton. We are returning to the New York Sheraton for football and they are already asking us if we want to return in 2009. Please provide your thoughts on the hotel and the convention center here if you can as we'll likely start contract proceedings for 2009 very soon. Thanks all.

Not one complaint. Very nice sized ballroom allowing for some elbow room between the leagues.

greg - nice place. good job finding it. as always, more room between leagues is preferred (or a way to not hear picks as loudly from other leagues).

The Sheraton was great! I hope we can return there next year. The Javitts center was terrible in my opinion.

Greg - Best spot yet for NYC. Loved it there!

OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

$6.50 for a bottle of water was a little steep.

Even for NYC.

Worked real well for me. Easy to find, lots of space. Much easier to get to than the Hilton.

The Sheraton worked well for the auctions on Friday. No complaints.

Greg,

As stated previously by others,I hated the Javits Center. It's terribly inconvenient to reach by mass transit and was just an awful physical environment.Sheraton is a big improvement. It gets my stamp of approval.

Rich McCormick-Astoria,NY Then what were you doing at the Javitts Center on Saturday morning!! ;) Just kidding.

I hear ya. We like the Sheraton better than the Javitts too. Securing space in Manhattan in March is never easy, so if we can book this for 2009 now and everyone is happy we'll be ahead of the game.

Greg:

Drafting at the Sheraton actual felt like I was watching a REAL PRO DRAFT on ESPN. Nice place, blows away the Hilton and Javits.

Sheraton is the way to go !!! E train gets off right there. The rooms for the auction and the main were great. Like someone said it's a no brainer.

Sheraton was great! So nice to leave your room and take an elevator to the draft room! and 810 deli had "cheaper" food

[/QUOTE]Another advantage of NYC: if you are a single straight male, you can basically pick up a model, even if you start with lines like "excuse me, do you know where the Fantasy Baseball Draft is".

If you live in NYC, you know what I mean, and if you don't, my wife has about 15 single femaie friends to intro you to...

Oh and yes, the Sheraton is a great place for the draft. Not sure how, but I think the carpeting or something made it harder to over hear other drafts than the Javits last year.

The bad news: two other leagues took Cueto right before I was going to take him, and someone else from my league jumped the gun

Sheraton much better than previous draft sites.

Great location. Carnagies Deli 1 block away. Best restaurant on Earth. Have you considered The Orleans in Vegas. Off the strip. Great ballrooms. Cheaper prices. Good Food.

Roundmann Great suggestion. Comparable to the Rio in many ways.

I'm glad to hear so many positives responses about the Sheraton. I agree it's the best location we've had yet for the NFBC and I think it will be ideal for the NFFC as well. I have enjoyed having our events at the Hilton. That's another great site with a great staff, but the Sheraton has it beat. Everything was ideal as far as the setups for our events all three days.
