A ground ball struck the right middle finger of Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Scott Rolen on Sunday, ripping off the fingernail and causing a non-displaced fracture of the bone in his finger tip.
“Early prognosis is it’s not going to be six weeks or something like that, so I don’t even want to throw a schedule out there. I can say this: he won’t be lost for the year.”

WTF - Last year I drafted Carlos Quentin and he got hurt within 24 hours. Now Rolen goes down this year. As someone else said, here we go again, it's baseball time!!!

This one might help you. Rather than suffer thru 4-5 games a week of disappointing hitting for a couple months until his back gave out, you now can go out and search for a rosterable 3b right from the git.

Jeez, that's a tough break. No pun intended. Have there been more injuries this spring than last? It sure the hell seems that way.

I like Rolen to bounce back as well. Then again, I like every veteran to bounce back.
I saw enough of him last season; he went in the broken down heap for me this season along with Nomar and his counterpart Glaus. I'd be surprised if he hit much more than 15 HRs this season.
In fact, I'm gonna call this one right now:
Scott Rolen, 275, 12 HRs.
Joe Crede and Melvin Mora are equal or better bets going 10 rounds later.

btw, 275-12 are my pre-NFBC draft numbers for Scotty.

Its actually probably so bad that he just might be the first person to hang up his cleats from a torn fingernail!
Rolen is a Blue Jay now. Remember, every injury north of the border must be downplayed.

I believe I called this in a PM to you about a week ago. The good news is as said you can find a replacement and not have any random Scott Rolen DNP days which you would have gotten during the season.

As they say injuries can happen to anyone....except they always happen to Scott Rolen.

Yeah, hold onto him while considering the source of this advice who says "THINGS ARE NEVER SO BAD THEY CAN'T BE MADE WORSE---HUMPHREY BOGART"
