Why does NFBC/NFFC continue to do business with STATS?
Just off the top of my head:
1)KofQ found a pile of eligibility errors lately
2) Long story, but in the Keeper League we need Sheffield to have OF-eligibility to start the year. STATS can't/won't accommodate us.
3) Setting up Free Agent transactions is slightly more pleasant than having teeth pulled, but only slightly.
NFBC/NFFC must be an account of significant size, and I can think of other sites to explore (My fantasy League certainly seems superior for football). Why do we muddle along with STATS when they seem to offer substandard service at prices that Greg/Tom have assured us are not low?

By way of comparison, I understand that Yahoo doesn't have Johnny Cueto in their player database. I'd classify that as inexcusable.
Look, STATS is by no means perfect. Their free agency system (though currently under construction) is antiquated, and the entire website could use some freshening up. However, given the alternatives, and their relationship with the NFBC, I'd say we're better off with them than without them.

NFBC/NFFC must be an account of significant size, and I can think of other sites to explore (My fantasy League certainly seems superior for football). Why do we muddle along with STATS when they seem to offer substandard service at prices that Greg/Tom have assured us are not low? Silly, silly post. Take it from someone who does know a bit about this industry and knows about the delicacies of stat services: You are getting the best in the business. If there are errors to be found, they are on OUR part, not STATS'. Eligibility errors were as much my fault as STATS' and KOQ is right, they fixed them right away. When your co-manager isn't linked up to your team, it's my fault and STATS gets it done immediately after I ask them to. The Keeper League doesn't allow Sheffield to be OF eligible because if we did that for that league he'd be OF eligible in ALL NFBC leagues. We have an individual problem with Will's team and KJ Duke is just going to have to fix it with Will, while not killing the rest of the NFBC.
And as for site enhancements, KOQ and others are on a test group to help us solve the free agent bidding process. That will be done this week. And for making our site prettier, that's on MY COMPANY to do that, not STATS. We don't pay STATS to upgrade the look and feel of the site, that's up to ME. I don't have the resources here to do that, but hopefully that will change soon.
Point to ME if you don't like the site, not STATS. From the back-end support side, they are PERFECT. I wish folks would realize that they do everything I've asked and at a fair price that allows you folks to still get a big chunk of the change back in prize money. Yes, there are hiccups each year, but look at how many stat services WCOFF has had in six years, look at the problems at ESPN.com, Fox and others. Look at our basketball game the one year we didn't use STATS or CBS. Folks, it could be a lot worse.
I know people think I'm too stout of a defender of STATS, but trust me they work well with us and they continually upgrade the process (live standings have been a great addition and the new free agent bidding process will be improved starting in Week 2). I'm just tired of this kind of post that seems to come up each year when each year STATS does exactly what I pay them for.
Good luck this year.

I just hope when they get all the bugs out of their new free agent acquisition system...that they give us a tutorial of the changes a week before releasing it...and also release it on Monday...allowing the entire week to tinker with the new interface.
It is laborsome...but the collective effort of a few guys from this MB really are the true watchdogs, and I thank them for their time.

Greg- How we looking on ADP results? As for me stats is fine. No system is perfect.
Why STATS?
the fa bidding process has been awful.having to load 5+ pages for each bid and conditional bid is ridiculous. if you have 1 team and time to waste its fine but with limited time and multiple teams it has been goddamn awful.

you guys do a basketball league too? whats that site?
