The way your pitching is going that may be the only hope for about 389 of us.

I thought Mcgowan looked really good tonight considering his recent illness.

Liriano struck out 8 and his stuff looked "very good". As long as he's not feeling any pain you've got quite a pitcher on your hands in a couple weeks. No need to worry. His stats in the minors shouldn't be a concern. It's his health. He should be dominant this year.

I'll say it again. His stats even against Single A hitters don't matter. It's his health and his stuff that matters. Those two things are fine.

First liriano was a lock to make the rotation out of spring training.

Next he had a lackluster spring and got shipped to the minors.

NOW he is having trouble with single A hitters.

Next will be that he needs to start 4 or 5 games at triple a.

Crazy, u need to get it through your head. We won't be seeing Liriano in the majors until his minor league performance improves.

You act like Liriano needs to prove he can pitch in the major leagues. He just needs to prove he can go a certain amount of pitches without any pain. That's it. Expect 4 GREAT months out Liriano. It's going to take him awhile before he "trusts" his arm again.

Liriano has said ALL SPRING that his arm feels fine. Twins management either doesn't believe him or they want to SEE his performance get better.

Last night got Liriano further away from the majors, not closer!

You guys read WAY too much into an off pitching day in the minors. It's not a big deal. He was late coming into spring training, he pitched well, no-hit through 4 innings in his last spring training start. He'll be fine.

I think right now, his body is getting adjusted again to pitching. It's hard not pitching for so long and coming back after an injury like that. He's not out there trying to prove that he belongs in the majors, he's just trying to get his pitch count up and improve location a little bit. That's it.

Relax guys, he'll be fine.

he has been throwing since November, not like he just started in the spring....

Harden's condition is that he is Rich Harden. He got hurt sitting on a plane? Please! I heard that he bought some antique samurai swords while in Japan and I bet he hurt himself playing war with his friends.

As for Franky Liriano, he'll start Sunday and pitch well. I hope....

Francisco Liriano, who is making his second Minor League start on Tuesday, would also be on track to start Sunday depending on how he fares for Rochester. If Slowey and Liriano are ready to go this weekend, there will be a decision to make in the rotation -- but Gardenhire isn't worrying about that just yet.

"First, we've got to see how [Liriano] does," Gardenhire said. "Then we'll make a decision on what we'll do. He should be stretched out to pretty close to 100 pitches tomorrow. Then we'll make a decision after the ballgame as to what we're going to do next. If it goes good, bring him up here."

Francisco Liriano needed 88 pitches to get through four innings tonight for Class AAA Rochester, and Casey Daigle has replaced him to start the fifth inning in Norfolk, Va.

Liriano gave up three runs on five hits, with three walks and three strikeouts.

btw crazy, i think lirano will be a fine pitcher. too bad it won't be until next year.

He knew a good performance gets him back in the rotation this weekend. So, I believe he tried his "best". Too bad his "best" right now can't even get single A or triple A hitters out.

Liriano will surprise. His first start might be a little shaky for obvious reasons but he's going to be ok. His minor league numbers don't matter. He's clearly working on just getting his location back.

On a side note: All this talk about Liriano failing from you makes me think you're using this as a built in excuse in case you lose this year.

So far, you've thought Soriano would has "ZERO" chance of leading off this year, way wrong, and Liriano is going to need 4-5 starts in the minors because somehow he needs to prove himself down there before being brought up. Amazing.
