Nah, we're still recruiting a memorabilia sponsor. We just haven't closed the deal yet, but we will soon. We may need to send in a new closer, though!!

I'm not in this competition for cash or prizes. The respect of my peers is what I'm after.

Chris Fargis Is Week 4 Winner
It was all about the pitching for Chris Fargis last week. Thanks to some “insanely good pitching” Fargis’ team leapfrogged the rest of the NFBC field as his Brooklyn Cyclones team in New York League 1 led the way last week with 3,248.5 points.
Josh Willingham (.458-2-7), Paul Konerko (.350-2-5) and Chipper Jones (.333-1-2) led the way offensively. Edinson Volquez won a pair of games with 17 strikeouts while Brad Lidge had three saves to lead the pitching.
But it was the standout pitching which provided most of the fireworks for Fargis’ team last week.
“Greinke, Lee, Padilla, Sanchez, Volquez, and Wainwright got me six wins in their nine starts with great ratios and strikeouts and Lidge, Rauch, and Acosta got me five saves,” Fargis said.
The big week was a bit of payback for Fargis, who took a little good-natured heat from his leaguemates when his team started struggled out of the gate.
“The guys in New York League 1 were giving it to me pretty good after I started slowly in the first two weeks,” he said. “It's nice to be able to back up your trash talk with a 20-point lead in your league, at least for one week.”
That bolt to the top of his league’s standings was set up by a draft strategy taht revolved around loading up on quality hitters early and then addressing his pitching staff with high-upside players in the later rounds.
“So far I've done quite well with my picks of Wainwright, Greinke,
Volquez, and Jonathan Sanchez, along with an early FAAB of Cliff Lee,” he said. “In fact, I'm leading the NFBC in ERA using only pitchers drafted in round 12 or later. I picked Kazmir in the sixth and Chad Cordero in the 11th, but they've been on the bench so far. It's a very fluky small-sample-size result, but I'm not complaining.”
The 28-year-old Fargis is single and lives in Brooklyn. When he’s not working on his team’s potential for success in the NFBC he is a professional poker player.
