Best fantasy pitcher from this point forward... How would you rank them (factoring in W, Ks, ERA, and WHIP)



C Lee, Scherzer, E Volquez, J Cueto, N Adenhart



I'm willing to bet Lee gets very little respect here but I could be wrong...



my ranking:

1. Lee

2. Volquez

3. Scherzer

4. Cueto

5. Adenhart



I have none of these pitchers on my main event team so no bias picks from me.

I have none of these pitchers on my main event team so no bias picks from me. None of these guys are proven enough to predict with great certainty in the short-term. They all have talent, and any could get on a roll or slip into a funk. That said, I'd say your rank looks about right for the moment.

If I owned Lee in a private/local league I would be selling high. Look at the teams he has faced and point out the power-house offense.



I own only one of these guys and might bid on another this weekend. I do not want to put a whammy on the guy I own, but he's been fan-frigging-tastic for a round 25 player.

Pete I was surprised to hear Steve Phillips of ESPN say the other day that Lee is for real and he'd pick Lee over Cueto or Scherzer from this point forward.

I would take Scherzer and not even think twice.Youve gotten your best out of Lee and Cueto has been getting hit.Scherzer has just to much upside.

Pete Point out the power-house? How bout 2 of those start agaisnt the team who leads the ENTIRE AL in runs scored?

Funny thing is what Oaktown says is true, plus it's not like he hasn't flat out dominated those weak lineups. Whoelse has been dominate against every "weak" lineup? Not saying I wouldn't take Scherzer or Cueto or even Volquez, but to discount his performance is just plain silly.

Your missing the point Pete. He dominated, flat out dominated all of them! When he faces the Yankees if he does well will it only be because ARod and Posada are gone? Ask Felix Hernandez how weak they are without them. Not saying he will, but for anyone to discount how dominant he has been is silly.

OAK players suck.

Hey, I don't have any of them, but w/r/t the previous post saying they were a walk in the park for Lee, they may suck for the next five months but he caught them in the midst of scoring piles of runs and they weren't very easy for 25 or so other pitchers they faced all month so I don't see how it's a valid point to say they were a cakewalk team for a pitcher to face last month.



I don't give any thought to whether they are good fantasy players. The point was that the person who posted that was talking down to someone else while only displaying his own ignorance, hence my post.

If he pinch hits 10 times...does he qualify as UTI???I think Greg said you could use him as a hitter or pitcher but not both. If he ever became a regular and an SP, you'd have to think he'd force a rule change in this league as people would want to draft him for both. The catch, of course, would have to be that you use both an active hitting and pitching spot for him.

I think Scherzer has the most upside. The kid from Parkway Central was a legend in the St. Louis area - however, he only has one pitch at this point. Dont get me wrong, his Kevin Brown fastball is devastating...but in the majors you need more to get through the lineup three times.



Cueto is solid, but his team blows. Adenhart may finish third or fourth, but I am drinking the Scherzer sauce a bit.
