I am benching him this week.

Just giving the rest of you a heads up that he will rack up at least 3 saves this week. I know he's been saving them up for when I bench him. Here's the chance he's been waiting for.

Pedro Martinez did the same for his first good outing of the season today. He'll be on my bench for a second week in a row, so you can bank on a second good outing from him too.

That's a point I fail to see (aside from the ridiculous split SP)...

When you project a pitcher...you do so based on all of his starts.

Trying to time when he has his mind right or run support or whatever is bullshit.

~Lance Lance, you do not even look for better odds from your fourth, fifth, and/or sixth starters if they are pitching at TEX, PHL, CIN, CHW, et al?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Last week I sat Pelfry vs. Webb.

We all know how that turned out...

And to make matters worse, I have Wagner and had to watch him implode!

So I start Webb...3ERs..ND

Bench Pelfry..0 ER in 8 IP..ND

Start Wagner...Blown Save

I'd say a clean sweep!

He's hitting in the heart of the order and is running a better BA as of late and would offer more RBI and equal SB chances. It looked like Pedrioa was in a slump.

I know a game does not a week make, but when its starts off like this on Monday....
