Overall pts...

Chicago 3 14175

New York 5 14061

Did a couple of owners in these leagues just flat out quit or are there a # of mentally challenged owners?

One team to note is Dyv's. He's been making a move the past few weeks. Well done Dyv.

Actually, we dropped Willy Mo today and picked up Sele for $3

We got Willy 2 weeks ago for $3. With Vernon Wells coming back for us... Beltre and Sanchez getting healthy (hopefully) over the All Star break, not to mention perhaps Juan Gonzalez maybe playing again this year... we didn't think we'd have as much room for Pena in our starting lineup. Maybe a bad move - dunno... we picked up Aaron Sele today. Need some wins and will spot start him in front of that big Anaheim offense when appropriate.

One of our 'league problems' is that Team Chielli hasn't logged into his team since April (according to the League team page). He's not doing poorly, but he has $1000 FA and has some DL guys in his lineup.

The league has about 11 guys in our starting lineups on the DL. Beyond my control - I'm afraid.

The positive is that overall rating has no impact from our league competition. Hanging around top 20 should be in the 2nd-3rd place range in a given league.

I hope we don't regret dropping Willy... his parting gift of 2 HR was nice today ;) Is he better than Klesko or Phelps ya think?

Thanks for the props - I see your team has slid up 35-50 spots (range left vague on purpose) in the past 30 days.

Miles to go before we sleep, miles to go...

We got Willy 2 weeks ago for $3. I forgot, the Vegas FA picks update later than the NY. My apologies. Pena could help a number of teams. Will Wells be back this month?

I thought Sele has always been an average pitcher at best. Maybe he can get a few extra wins with the Angels line-up?

Vernon Wells: 1-2 weeks. Soon, I'm praying.

Sele will be a matchup play - avoid the Tiger's offense and look for the anemic matchups with 2 starts, etc. Opportunity looming for him to be acceptable IMHO.

Or maybe he'll be back on waivers in a week or two... the mysteries of the game ;)

Oops, Gekko-maybe you should have gone with your initial gut instead of following Dyv's lead.... ;) but you're doing better than me so I can't say much.

Though at this point I don't know why you feel the need to continually keep your team hidden, since you are doing pretty well now and that key guy you got back from the DL last week will certainly help even more.

If you think you know which team or teams are mine, more power to you. I will tell you I'm not in the top 20, which was a goal I set at the beginning of the season. Anything other than top 20 (for me) is considered failure in my book. This is my first high stakes baseball league, and I think I've done pretty good up until this point. We'll see what the future holds.
