What Did Cliff Lee Go For In Week 1 FAAB?

It's amazing that Cliff Lee could win this year's Cy Young Award in the AL and for the most part wasn't even drafted in the majority of NFBC leagues in 2008. Will we ever see that again in the NFBC?? Will we ever see a pitcher make such a difference from free agency again??



Looking at the 2008 ADP, Lee was drafted in 8 of our 26 main event leagues. His ADP was 436th and he had a high pick of 327 (kudos to that owner). The teams that picked up Lee early in the year were the big winners and you may find it hard to believe how much Lee went for.



Here's a look at the Week 1 FAAB pickups involving Cliff Lee. He went for $5 in one Ultimate League and $3 in the Ultimate Auction League. Amazing.

Lee wasn't available in any live event leagues after Week 3. But what a bargain he was for those teams who drafted him, or go him via FAAB in Weeks 1, 2 or 3. We may never see another dominant pitcher like this available in FAAB like this again. Or will we?

Greg, he probably didnt have as much of an impact as Cliff Lee but I think Alexei Ramirez was also available in almost every (if not every) league and he has put up some outstanding numbers in 400 AB's. He definitely helped out alot of teams.

In the Ultimate he didnt go till week three and that was Shawn,what a pickup, 113.

BUT in the Super a Shark like Jeff Dobies gobbled him up in the first week, 4 buck's.

In week #3, I had a $129 bid posted on Cliff Lee. With less than fifteen minutes left to deadline I reminded myself that THIS WAS CLIFF LEE. I lowered the bid to $89. Arghhhhhhh





Soon after missing out on him, I spent $100 with no backup on Homer Bailey. Brilliant.
