Really need more info on the league structure and size to give a better answer.

Bottom line = PROFIT

Secondarily = long term value

IF you like to have at least one really good catcher (and I do), I would keep

Hanley

McCann

Longoria

Quentin

If not sub in another hitter or a $10 Soria

Quentin, Carlos LF CHW 5 In a 12-Team Mixed and given you got the above list all for $6 or less last year, go cheeeeeeep! Quentin, Longoria, and Adrian Gonzalez. Then take a pitcher. If it looks like the top five closers will be kept, keep Soria. If not Shields or Harden or Liriano. Tough to make a mistake off this list.

with the value you have- why would hanly be " a no brainer" in mixed league- what is he 12 -15 bucks ahead of bay. yet bay is $32 cheaper. maybe i missed something. i think you want to get as many bucks under the true value as possible on 4 good players.

There is a fine line between freezing Profit vs Stats - ideally you want to do both, which is why I would freeze Hanley + the huge profit of the other three players.

None of the cheaper players are the lock to produce Hanley's stats......AND you prevent someone else from getting them.

disagree- because i don't think the line is fine. he can freeze 4 really good players. look at it this way- at some point hanly is unkeepable. 60 bucks? now you can compare it to what you can keep and the price. the $ do not seem close. also, he will be keeping power and need speed. he throwing back 2 guys in victorine and ichuro that he could buy back. to try and keep a player away from 11 others- i don't think is a good strategy. they will find the stats somewhere ( as a group). do what kings said- it makes the most sense.

Longoria and Quentin are easy keepers. Then I like having a good cacther,so I would keep Mc Cann. The 4th keeper would be Soria. Having a solid closer to build off of. Hanley at $37 is very tempting, but you can still go after him at your draft and pay up to $50-$55 to keep him.If he goes higher you can still go after Reyes,Rollins,Wright,A-rod. You will be cash heavy going into the draft. Spent $31 on keepers, gives you more options at the draft table.

Soria/AGonz/Longoria/CQ = $29 total

All selections based on value for their positions. Hanley may still be a value at $37 but I'd rather have the cash for flexibility. If Hanley breaks a leg right before your auction, you'll be hard pressed to replace him after sacrificing almost 16% of your total budget just to keep him. If you really want him, bid on him, at the worst you drive his price up and it's rare in fantasy baseball that one superstar will carry a team.

Good luck!

I'll chime in with Longoria and Quentin as well. CATCHer McCann would be #3. And my 4th would be Francisco Liriano. I prefer the starting pitcher over the closer (Soria); basically, Liriano can help you in 4 pitching categories. As for Hanley, I tend to agree with the others, he can be bid on during the auction draft. There should be no worries of shortstop depth because you are also throwing Stephen Drew back into the player pool.

I used the term No Brainer for Hanley based on the fact that I can keep him for 37 which is about 10 less than what he would most likely go for in the open market.. I understand some experts will slap various price tags on Hanley BUT in this league I have the luxury of drafting with the same Owners year after year and I know their tendencies...

With many of those $$$$ amounts, you have to be able to pull off a trade. Have you tried?

I'm keeping McCann and Longoria for sure and quite possibly Hanley. After that, I would really have to think long and hard if I couldn't pull off a trade.

I also love the prices for Soria and Liriano as well.....man, you have some tough calls to make.

TRADE! TRADE! TRADE!

CC'S DESPERADOS, looking forward to seeing you from afar in March if you know what I mean.

GOD LOVES YOU, I disagree about trading. It will make who to keep that more difficult. I would rather throw the remaining players back into the auction pool where I would have the opportunity of going after them if I so desire. Plus why help another team by trading away potential keepers....let those other teams earn it by spending their auction dollars.

A good strategy is to TRADE actually but the key in this style of a league is to trade er-Dump HIGH PRICED or over priced players.... Ive been doing my best to deal AROD at that price for some bargains... But its the off season now and these other owners are still hybernating..

Any thoughts on Victorino.. Keeping him for 14 bucks is some serious value... These decisions this year for me have never been harder

I would go with Quentin and Longoria and get a nice start with my offense then go with Liriano and Shields and get two stud pitchers ,both should go over 20.
