NFBC $325 Slow Draft - Draft Champions League
Okay, we've assembled our first NFBC Slow Draft of the 2009 season and we filled it last night on the message boards in 2 hours. Amazing.
Here's the concept: 15 owners, 45 rounds, no FAAB during the season, $325 per entry fee and we'll pay the top three finishers with a free entry to the 2010 NFBC main event or $1300 each. So the roster you draft is what you have to work with during the season. There are no pickups, but you still set your starting lineup each week and make moves on Friday for DL players if needed.
MockDraftCentral.com will set up the league site today and e-mail everyone that the draft is ready to go. You will be notified of each pick via e-mail, so get ready for a lot of e-mails and when you are on the clock you have 12 hours to make a pick. KJ Duke can explain what happens if you don't make a pick in 12 hours, but honestly with this die-hard group I don't think that will be a problem. Be ready to pick and this should be a LOT of fun.
Okay, here's the draft order after running KDS:
1. Jim Stanard
2. Shawn Childs
3. Tony Cincotta
4. Eddie Gillis
5. Stephen Jupinka
6. Bobby Jurney
7. Lance Turbes
8. Rick Thomas
9. Bryan Vogel
10. Craig Williams
11. Kevin Dukesherer
12. Bill Cleavenger
13. Matt Bauler
14. Andy Saxton
15. Emory Upchurch

If these guys agree, it's possible to post the first 6-10 rounds like we've done for some other sats, but as we get into the sat season I'll scramble the results so that folks can't match up the names with the picks. Again, it's in the best interests of the paying customers.

The KDS preferences for this league happened quickly, so some folks decided to stay at 1-15. But in the end, the average preferred draft spot for each owner was 5.2, which means on average each owner got his fifth preferred spot. Here's the quick facts:
* Two owners got their first preference, three owners got their second preference and two other owners got their third preference. Nine owners got a Top 5 preference and the lowest preferences were 10, 11, 12.
Here's the KDS preferences:

I'm on the e-mail list, so it's filling up my e-mail with each pick, but it's fun to watch the picks. Great stuff so far.
NOW it feels like baseball season. It's just a shame that I'm still looking at 53 inches of snow outside my window.

I dont like my picks. They match a guy who I hear has little clue from another draft already complete. Can somebody get me a line to the Gekko war room to bail me out?
