Do You Want To Watch A Draft Tonight?

Post by Tom Kessenich » Mon Jan 19, 2009 12:28 pm

Here's your chance. I'll be taking part in a 12-team, 23-round draft tonight on Mock Draft Central.com. This is a "live" draft where people can follow the draft as it happens. I believe you'll be able to ask questions as well. So if you want to check out a draft tonight, this is you chance.

Can I be the play-by-play analyst - or perhaps just the oddsmaker? :D

Do You Want To Watch A Draft Tonight?

Post by KJ Duke » Mon Jan 19, 2009 12:58 pm

Ok, I clicked thru the sites I'd never heard of, and based on that and what I know of the others, here is my opening line for this draft:

5:1 creative sports - they play the NFBC, so they know how to play this game

7: 1 Tom Kessenich - Greg had him working day and night, I'm sure

8:1 Fantasy Sports Empires - could be the sleeper in this group

9:1 BaseballHQ - they've got a shot, but professor needs some real-world attitude

9:1 MDC - Jason watches a lot of drafts, he's got to learn something

10:1 Hardball Times - good baseball site, but do they know fantasyball as well?

17:1 Fanball - well, they know how to run the games, what else do they know?

20:1 Razzball - razz this

25:1 Fantasy Pros 911 - this is no emergency, so they'll be out of their element

33:1 Fantasy Baseball Search - even a tech geek knows how to search

50:1 Fantasy Phenoms - flashy name, thats it - is this guy the Philly Phenom by day?

100:1 Fake Teams - fake expert? seems like it to me :D

I think they are waiting for their friends to call and email them to convince them to play.

1. David Wright

2. Jose Reyes

3. Hanley Ramirez

4. A-Rod

5. Pujols

First time I've seen Wright No. 1.

Okay, I see Tom at pick NO. 6. Sizemore-Fielder-Crawford isn't a bad start. Crawford at 30th overall is pretty sweet, I think.

Jacobs at 5.1 please tell me this was a mistake, not a chance anyone with any knowledge takes Jacobs at 5.1 in a 12 teamer even if you think he is going to hit 50hr

Alexi, Grandy, Victorino and Ellsbury all going pick 50 or later. I do not think you will see this in any draft. Tom should be licking his chops with this group of guys

Even if he loved jacobs he could have taken him in Round 9 which is still probably 5 rounds before he should go.

Jacobs was the 10th 1B selected in this draft. I just looked at my personal 1B rankings. WOW I guess I'm not an expert

Wright is the only guy he has drafted that really has upside and how much upside can there be with the #1 pick. Everyone he has drafted can easily have a bad year, due to one year wonder, age or previous injury
