New type of league?

With the extreme success of the KJ Duke salary cap leagues, it seems like everyone is now throwing out their ideas for new style leagues that could possibly be introduced. Figured Id join the crowd and throw my idea out there.



My friends and I are in a local league that uses NFBC scoring, and has a standard 30 round draft. The catch here, is that of your 30 man roster, you must have 1 and only 1 player from each of the 30 MLB teams. It really adds a new strategic element to the draft, knowing that every team needs a royal, and a pirate and a national on their team. Do you reach early and grab one of the studs on a bad team, or do you settle for the 15th best player on the team and have him sit on your bench all season.



It also makes free agency very exciting. Take last year as an example, it's week 2 and Cliff Lee is available to be picked up.. but you have Victor Martinez or Travis Hafner on your team..

What do you do?



Plus it makes even games that you don't care too much about that much more exciting, knowing that you have a player on every team



I'm not necessarily trying to generate interest here, but of all the local leagues that I play in every year, this is by far one of the most entertaining. If there's enough interest, maybe we could see if we could get something going here, any thoughts?

What happens at the trade deadline when two dozen players get moved? Are you compelled to go to the wireand pick up another Pirate and dump a Red Sock because you own Jason Bay and he got moved to Boston? That would make that week's free agency totally bananas...

Trades would have no effect.. Once a player is drafted, he's your player from that team.. So if you draft Jason Bay, and he gets traded, he's still your Pirate
