Just An Incredible Week Of Signups...

First of all, Tom and I would like to thank EVERYONE in the NFBC this year for such incredible support. In a tough economy, you folks have come through in droves and supported this event like never before. We had a great group of die-hard fantasy baseball players before, but now we have an even greater group with a minimum of 200 first-time players with us among the live events and the online championship. The new customers that we've recruited through the satellite leagues and the online championship is really, really refreshing and encouraging.
Whether you came through Rotoworld.com or NBC Sports.com or MSNBC or via Google or Fanball.com or Rotowire.com or through the ads in the print titles, WELCOME ABOARD. We're glad to have you and I promise you'll enjoy the competition.
In the six years that we've been doing this, I've never seen a week like the one we just experienced. We have an NFBC staff meeting every Tuesday morning and I provide an update with the numbers and revenue for every single event. The numbers have been strong recently, but this last week was just off the charts. Consider the following:
We added over 275 individual signups over the last seven days.
Almost 100 new signups were for the online championship.
Almost 140 teams were entered for the NFBC Satellite Leagues.
We added 32 main event teams at a time when most of our signups are already in.
We added 7 Super League signups and will now fill up a Chicago Auction League. We guaranteed a full Ultimate Auction League in Las Vegas.
We are 44 signups away from pulling the draft spots and determining the leagues in each city for the main event. With any luck we'll get those to you by late next week and give you more than a week to prepare for your draft spots. KDS deadline remains at noon CST on Wednesday, March 11th.
So it was an incredible week. Just so you know, Tom and I get an e-mail sent to us everytime there is a new signup, so our Blackberrys have just been a humming this week. It's been a full-time job to make sure we keep the lists accurate and up-to-date, but it's been fun. Some folks don't even get 275 e-mails in a week and we got 275 e-mails that said more customers want to get into our contests. Awesome.
So again, THANK YOU. You have made this contest what it is and now you've extended us into a national online contest that is going to pay out a bigger prize than we had first guaranteed. That is just great. Let's all have a fun, fun baseball season and get through these tough economic times together with a fun diversion. This is going to be a special baseball season and we THANK YOU for all your support.
Oh, and everyone WILL get paid on time through our contests just like they have over the past five years. I know there are some scary things going on in the industry right now, but you can trust in us that we'll again get out our payments by the end of October and the prize money will be secured and set aside. No worries there...just in case you were wondering.
