Okay, I'm finding out that there are several people out there who still wanted to get in the Super Draft League on Sunday after we filled and unfortunately I just think it's too late to try and fire up another one. Besides, I'm happy to have filled all that we've filled so far and starting up another league seems like a tough thing to do with one week left. And trust me, I'm not trying to be greedy with this one.
But here's an option. This phone/online option we have is almost like hooking up a teleconference league among cities and I think we almost can have a Super League closer to Draft Day involving this format that works for everyone. Here's what I'm thinking about doing and if it works for you let me know and if you don't like the idea, that's okay. Maybe next year we can plan for a Sunday night Super League on top of everything else. The details:
NFBC Super Draft League
Saturday, April 4, 7 p.m. ET
PHONE/ONLINE OPTION on MockDraftCentral.com
$20,000 for first, $7,500 for second, $3,750 for third
This would be the latest possible draft before Sunday's opening day and we're assured that we can load these rosters by Sunday morning. FAAB wouldn't start until Week 2. We'd all get on a teleconference to hear the picks, MDC would disable the software and make every pick based on the voice picks and everyone would still be able to hear and see the picks. Available free agents would be right there on the screen.
Again, I'm not pushing this but there are several folks who were left out of the Super Draft League and several more looking for some online action at $1,000 or above. We'll provide it now with this format after our Online Championships and see if the demand is there. If not, no harm, no foul. Sound good?
Think about it and if you have any interest, just post your name here. We don't even have a signup link for it, but we'll create one once we see enough interest. For now, we just want to see if there's interest and whether we should pursue this or not. Thanks all.

Greg -- my 2 cents is that this is a great idea for future years (i.e., doing a seperate phone-in only Super league through MDC, and having it right before the season in the format you describe). But as one of your phone-in Super members for this year, I'd say just leave it alone, and go with the 30 teams / 2 leagues you have now.

Greg,
I wish that I could join a superdraft, but unfortunately, I am not able to this year.
I did want to throw out a suggestion since it sounds like there are some preliminary plans for 2010.
Do you think there would be any interest in a "decathalon" type of event? Something that would allow owners to try and prove themselves over the different types of contests that are offered.
Just my thoughts on an example:
Entry Fee $2,500
12 Owners in the Contest
Have the 12 owners in these different leagues:
AL Only Draft
NL Only Auction
15 Team Mixed Auction
In addition, owners would also be required to be in the Main event and Online Championship.
In order to determine the winner, you could add their league point totals from all five leagues and the highest total would be the winner. (if there is a tie, the tie breaker would be overall main event standings).
The NL only would need an extra owner to join and the mixed auction would need 3 extra owners. I believe the NFBC has enough owners who would interested in volunteering to join as an extra. They would not be charged anything and would not be eligible to win anything, but would be able to help determine the outcome based on their team's standings.
Let's face it, the NFBC has by far the premier fantasy baseball events, why not have a contest that show cases the different league options.
It may sound a little odd at first, but I bet you would fill a couple of these decathalon type leagues. Instead of adding point totals from each league, you could even do a "golf type scoring," where first place gets 1 point, second gets 2 points, etc and the lowest score wins.
We could keep a weekly tally on the message board, similar to what we did in the past with Gekko's football supersatellite league.
There would be no individual league prizes (except for what you win in main event and online obviously). You could pay out top 2 or top 3.
(I would prefer top 3, but with only 12 teams eligible, top 2 would also work). The entry fees for Main event and online would be separate. It would be better to get the 12 in the same online championship league, since they can enter more than once, having a league with all owners would be the one used to determine this winner. (Hope that makes sense!)
You could determine the payout structure, but here are a couple throughts based on 83.33% payouts (like superdrafts and ultamites)...
Pay Top 2...
1st Place - $17,500
2nd Place - $7,500
or
Pay Top 3...
1st Place - $16,500
2nd Place - $6,000
3rd Place - $2,500
Just my thoughts!

Poopy's pentathlon idea sounds like a hoot.
