Finished in 4:30 thanks to Perry running a great draft...

ARod went for $22.

Interesting draft in that like most second day LABR drafts, the fever pitch of day one slows a bit. Prices were very reasonable early and the inflation in the draft didn't really hit until we all had $$65-80 left and then the TierII and TierIII SP's went for very nice premiums as most had only 1-2 starters at that time and the need was huge.. This cut into our plans a bit, but we wound up adjusting nicely IMO as you'll see below.

C's again all went for $2-4 extra like last night..

Here's the team..

$21 Mauer

$1 Mathis

$15 Konerko

$1 Viciedo

$15 Blalock

$18 J.Lopez

$1 Nomar

$8 Lowrie

$23 Hunter

$24 Quentin

$33 Crawford

$13 Francisco

$3 Bloomquist

$1 Gload

7-10 pts in each cat for total of 40.

$21 Lackey

$22 Greinke

$10 Floyd

$12 Sonnanstine

$8 Saunders

$4 R.Perez

$3 Thornton

$2 Br.Anderson

$1 D.Oliver

1st in wins w/o counting B.Anderson

2nd in K's... 1st If Anderson pitches 1/2 season

3rd in ERA and WHIP for 44 itching pts..

We wanted to spend $2-3 more on Floyd/Sonn/Saunders picks but the guys we wanted all went for $18-22 instead of $13-17 there... but it worked ok in the end...

Reserves- N.Feliz, Linebrink, Blevins, Br.Allen, A.Everett

Rick....as I said after he was auctioned off last night (mainly for Shandler's benefit who was writing a column while watching the AL draft).....you can say that it's luck with Saunders.......BUT as long as he continues to win he is worth it and I don't care what you call it ;)

Okay, I'm going to do a little LABR analysis of our teams and tease a few dollar values on our boards tonight or tomorrow morning as I just got back to six inches of snow in Wisconsin after an incredible journey to Arizona. In 20+ years of travelling for the company, I've never had worse flights in my life.

On Friday, it took me 15 hours to get from Wisconsin to Arizona and I missed Friday's game. Heck, I almost missed Friday dinner!! :D Northworst cancelled my first flight, delayed my next flight out of Appleton and then delayed my final flight due to a faulty toilet. At that point I was willing to tell everyone to squeeze it and let's get in the air. Sheesh. Then of course my luggage was the last one to come out and by the time my ride picked me up I had arrived to Sun City seven hours behind schedule.

Two days of ballgames and auctions more than made up for that however. What great fun to bid against Ron Shandler, Rick Wolf/Glenn Colton, Perry, Todd, Lawr Michaels, Doug Dennis, Steve Moyer, Steve Gardner, Clay Davenport, Bob Radamski, Mike Sheets, Chris Liss, etc. Nothing ever comes easy in these auctions and even with most of the same characters the AL Auction on Sunday night was completely different than the NL Auction on Saturday night. Bizarre, but fun.

Then of course today was another adventure home on Northworst. I was on the plane in Minneapolis ready to go home when it was discovered that our brakes needed to be fixed. Everyone off the plane and let's find a new one. 90 minutes later we were headed to the fresh snow of Wisconsin. A waste of about nine hours sitting around airports dampened the trip, but the fun of back-to-back auctions and seeing two ballgames outweighed even that.

Now I can only hope that my Vegas flights are on time or I'll really be peeved. Get it together NW in the next week!!!
