Replace the DL rule with the "one Friday call-up" rule

I am shocked their hasn't been strong support or at least discussion for Zola's idea, or my suggested modification of it (allowing one Friday move per week) regardless of DL-status, as this would erase nearly every problem everyone has with the DL rule. Benefits:

(1) Bench a player for any reason - which resolves the September DL problem, the STATS being up to date problem, and the so-called DL abuse problem. It also allows you to bench a player that is sent down, or not playing because he isn't hurt "enough" ala Josh Hamilton all week.

(2) This rule doesn't require constant Friday monitoring, which we know many players would be against as it would benefit the always-online players.

(3) It puts the power in the hands of the player to manage their team better, whether they use those moves for injuries, double-start pitchers, players called up or sent down, etc.

Watching this DL debate reminds me of watching Presidential elections on the abortion issue. We know the country is split on abortion, like we know the NFBC is split on various DL issues, so how about we focus on accomplishing something that can benefit the majority equally rather than just going back and forth on a split issue?
