I am not sure what fantasy value, if any, Whitesell will have going forward. I was hoping that he would provide some power potential, since I have been getting destroyed in the corner infield (Derrek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Joe Crede and Travis Ishikawa).

I know that he can be sent back to AAA at any time, does anyone have a good read on him and whether he can stick this season?

Well, some seem to think he is a AAAA player, while others think he has a legit shot to be a contributor in the majors.. a late-bloomer ala Hafner, Howard, etc... he's only 27, so not really a career minor leaguer just yet, but he obviously needs to show something. I picked him up this week for Carlos Guillen as I had no backup 1B (oops) and he looks to be getting the bulk of PT at 1B over Tracy for the time-being, but I imagine his longevity will depend on if he produces or not.. let's hope he does! He has power and good plate discipline, so I think he could stick.

D Freese had the average and power too in the minors and it didn't take long for him to get sent back down to the minors. Tough call on Whitesell.

Originally I heard he'd be given a chance tho play every day but most recently I read that the manager said whitesell and tracy will share ABs.
