Frank Heron Is Week 6 NFBC Winner

Post by Tom Kessenich » Mon May 18, 2009 2:03 am

Congratulations to Frank Heron, whose MIAMI CANES team in Orlando League 1 led the way in the NFBC last week with 3,271 points.

A huge week from Raul Ibanez (.481-4-12) led the way offensively. Ryan Zimmerman (.407-3-8), Juan Pierre (.407, 4 SBs) and Paul Konerko (.455-1-2) also had big weeks offensively. Zach Duke and Johan Santana combined for three wins and 22 Ks to lead the pitching staff.

Congratulations again to Frank and good luck to everyone in the NFBC this week.

Before the season, many observers wondered if Raul Ibanez would struggle moving to the National League for the first time. So far, there hasn’t been any cause for concern, and last week Ibanez put together a smashing week at the plate.

And Frank Heron could not have been happier.

A huge week from Ibanez (.481-4-12) led the way offensively as Heron’s MIAMI CANES team in Orlando League 1 led the way in the NFBC last week with 3,271 points.

Ryan Zimmerman (.407-3-8), Juan Pierre (.407, 4 SBs) and Paul Konerko (.455-1-2) also had big weeks offensively. Zach Duke and Johan Santana combined for three wins and 22 Ks to lead the pitching staff.

“I got huge weeks from Mauer, Zimmerman, Pierre and Ibanez and that was great to see,” Heron said.

The 34-year-old Heron is married and owns his own medical supplies and medical transportation business.
