Strasburg - Where will he be drafted next year?

Stephen Strasburg to date this year at SDSU:
Won-loss record: 13-0
ERA: 1.24
Innings: 102
Walks: 19
Strikeouts: 180
= ridiculous.
To me, he is the most interesting person in 4-5 years in the NFBC regarding where he could be drafted.
Based on what I've seen, there is usually at least one person in a draft who reaches for a top prospect. I could see somebody taking him in round 4 or 5, but that draft territory compares to a guy like Haren this year. That is too high for me.
There is much to be determined in the next 10 months, but man this guy is intriguing.
What do you think?

does this mean you are already packing it in for this season, Jack?

i think you are correct jack. if he pitches well remainder of this year and in spring training- "it only takes one" will apply. round 4-5 looks correct. the possible lack of wins could hurt- but lincy proved that wrong last year.

Maybe one or two teams take him in the 5th round or so which is WAY too early simply based on his inning cap, but I suspect most teams will gamble in the first 10 rounds- a little bit earlier than where King Felix, Hamels, Lincecum, Kershaw, and Price have gone in recent seasons.
One thing that will make a difference is that his signing bonus and contract will be so large, that it will speed his trip to the bigs. Arbitration may be a non-issue depending on the contract figures.

No, I figure I still have a chance with all my teams when Blanton is not on any of them.
Edit - By the way, you don't need to look far today to find my team compared to yours in the overall standings. So if I'm packing it in, well....

i only say it because you seem to be looking toward next year (based on the thread you started). i am looking at this year only.

if people (you included) can't beat me this year, it might be time to reassess

Good luck Jack.
PS - The daily grind of scoreboard watching will give you more stress than you need, esp after your bad nights.
I suggest once a week AT THE MOST or do what I do...maybe once a month or wait till June.

If I'm not mistaken he was going mostly in the 5th round his rookie year, and I expect that Strasburg will go a round or two later primarily because the Nats are just so plain pathetic that he'd be lucky to pull down 7 or 8 Wins in his 150 IPs (assuming the Nats do with him what the Yanks did with Joba).
BTW, I saw Strasburg pitch the first week in March vs. USD. Sat five rows behind home plate and watched him hit 100 on the gun and toy with the hitters. 18 K's that day, if I'm not mistaken. A Man among boys, for sure...

Strasburg looks pretty good, but I'm sticking with Joe Blanton.

Is Strausburg a better Max Scherzer?
The hype seems similar. As someone who goes to a dozen or so Nats games, I sure hope he is drafted, signed and then shut down until Arizona fall ball. I also think it may be June before he sees the bigs to slow down his arbitration clock.
