Alright, I’m sure most of you have listened to some fantasy baseball shows on blogtalkradio. If you’re like me, you’re wondering (with the exception of Jeff Erickson’s show) “where the F are the shows from people with good track records playing fantasy baseball, that are entertaining and best of all contain quality information, not 30 or 60 minutes of drivel.”
And with that...the Time has Come for the self-appointed “best fantasy baseball player in the world” to give this blogtalkradio thingee a try. I just signed up for an account over the weekend and spent about 15 minutes looking over the various functions. Probably take 3-4 hours to learn everything and a couple of test runs to make sure everything sounds good, right?
Nah, I’m ready to learn on the fly! Probably make for some awkward moments and screwups, but life is filled with that stuff anyways, so why not put myself out there now?
Coming tomorrow, Tuesday June 2nd, to an Internet connection near you, I will be hosting a live show discussing fantasy baseball the Gordon Gekko way! My show! My topics!

Although I’m going to start with a 15 minute show, I eventually (within a week or two), will grow into a 30 minute show that plays Sunday evening from 6pm-6:30pm. Anything longer than 30 minutes tends to drag on too long for most folks. I like hard-hitting, fast-paced action! Later tonight, I’ll post the link to the show. Tentative time is from 6pm-6:15pm EST.
I haven’t had a chance to look into how to field calls yet, but I’m anticipating needing some help from my NFBC player network to appear as guests on the show. The call-in number is a long distance call for most, so please be aware. However, if you have a cell phone with a good plan, that should be a non-issue for you.
If you’d like a chance of a lifetime of being a guest on GG’s show, please send your fantasy baseball resume, 3 references, and a letter of interest to the following address, ah hell, just PM me, and I’ll get back to you. Serious inquiries only. I need people that aren’t afraid to answer questions with a couple sentences, not just “yes” or “no”. I also need people that sound knowledgeable (you don’t actually have to be knowledgeable, just sound that way).
In addition, I need YOUR help in coming up with a name for my show. Please chime in with suggestions. Some I thought of:
Gordon Gekko’s “I don't throw darts at a Fantasy Baseball board”
Gordon Gekko’s “Fantasy Baseball is good”
Gordon Gekko’s “Fantasy Baseball information is the most valuable commodity”
Gordon Gekko’s “If you need a friend, play fantasy baseball.”
Gordon Gekko’s “It’s all about the Fantasy Baseball bucks”
Gordon Gekko’s “Bagging the Fantasy Baseball Elephant”
Thanks ALL!

Mark, if you need any help, contact my friend, Tony Cincotta. He's a part of the top football show and top baseball show on blogtalkradio. He host a few shows himself and is a guest on numerous others. He's been doing it for a few years now, so he's well versed in blogtalkradio.com. He could definitely help out a newbie.
[email protected]
Or if you want to speak to him on the phone, send me a pm and I can give you his number.

I think one of your shows regular segments should be called "Bulls and Bears" (players on the rise and those on the way down).

Man, coming up with the content for the show is bringing back memories of high school English class where we had to give 10 minute speeches in front of the class!! I’m getting some of the same kind of butterflies...
* Will I have enough content to fill the allotted time
* Will people like the show
* Will I talk too fast
* What if my guest doesn’t show up
* Since I’m new to blogtalkradio, what if I screw up and can’t figure out how to connect to the quest or I accidentally hang up on him
All those things are weighing on me right now!!!! This is worse than seeing Sean Marshall’s Sunday night boxscore!!
With that said, I think I’m going to make the show 30 minutes tonight. Folks are welcome to call, but truth be told, I don’t know if I’ll be able to get to you 2nite.
If I go to a 30 minutes, my guest will be Greg (or Tom) and an NFBC veteran.
Back to the butterflies...

I just e-mailed you. I'm good to go for tonight. Just give me that phone number and I'll carry you for tonight's show.

Now settle down and we'll have some fun tonight. Just do like I always do before a radio show: Pop open an beer and settle in.

I've actually thought about setting up a show too so maybe this will motivate me seeing Gekko up and running!
GG- luck favors the prepared mind, right? You know your stuff as well as anyone on this planet. It's all about making the 30 minutes flow at this point. (easier said than done, i'm sure). Be confident and be yourself (well that was redundant).
A couple of questions that you can answer on air if you want to use some of your time in this way (or use for future show?, if not, no problem):
1. One of things I love about the main event is it allows me to compete against the "fantasy experts" of the world. If I didn't think I could take 1st, I wouldn't play. But there are a couple of teams I look for in the standings because I respect them and am curious to see where they are in the standings- you, Childs, Zola, and Quahogs. Anyone you keep an eye on out of respect/curiousity? Besides yourself (and me- my name is Rich Kulaski, by the way), can you name me a couple of other guys you consider to be the best at this game?
2. Nobody drafts perfectly. What were a couple of mistakes you made on draft day? What are the most common mistakes you see on draft day made by your opponents?
More current
3. Will Matt Joyce have an impact in Tampa or will he be a victim of playing time like other big call ups this year?
4. Rank 'em and support your answer (from this point forward?) Bastardo, Medlen, David Hernandez.
If i get ambitious enough and actually get my show running, maybe you'd be a guest on my show.
good luck tonight. rich
