Yikes!! Fausto, we hardly knew you

"The Cleveland Indians have activated designated hitter Travis Hafner from the 15-day disabled list and optioned struggling starter Fausto Carmona to the Arizona Rookie League."

That can't be good.

10 Good things about Fausto going to Arizona:

10. He can stick around for the Arizona Fall League.

9. Perry Van Hook, Fausto Carmona= Roomies!

8. He'll be one of the few "Fausto's" in Arizona

7. Rookies will make him feel young.

6. He didn't want to hear Hafner bitch about his aches and pains anyway.

5. It was better than being "DaLuccied"

4. He was tired of Pavano bragging about Alyssa Milano.

3. The 120 degrees is a dry heat.

2. Sinkers sink better in a dry heat, don't they?

1. He didn't like the way Cliff Lee looked at him in the shower.

Better Cliff Lee than Travis Hafner. "Pronk" just doesn't sound good...

Indians are on the hook here as they signed him to that big extension last April. The Indians owe him $4.9 million next season and $6.1 million in 2011, and then have $28 million worth of team options from 2012-2014. Pretty certain this was his final minor league option - so it looks like he is going to have to work his way back. Ohka will get the next shot - then maybe they bring up Lofgren from AA.

The thing with Fausto is the stuff is still there - he is consistently hitting 92-94 mph and getting tons of ground balls. He just can't get it over the plate - a MLB worst 41 BB's in only 61 innings

Maybe we should start another category called Selective BB'S.

Most of his bb's have come vs. rh'ers while lefties are hitting a lofty .331 against him.
