I know he's a beast...but what would you say is his realistic ETA in the majors?



Would you pick him up in a 12 team keeper league that allows 10 keepers each year?



Will he be drafted in the first 8-9 rounds in the 2010 NFBC main in your opinion?

Lance - assuming Washington can get him signed, I think he makes a token appearance in September this year but won't have much fantasy value.



You DEFINITELY want to pick him up if possible in any keeper league.



Next year - somewhere in rounds 8-10 for the optomists....but the following year

I'm strong in hitting, and have a bench spot to burn...so I'm gonna grab him (first claim, first served home league).



That'll make it fun to track Scott Boras and the contract chase!

he almost assuredly will not be signed before August 17th. I sort of believe the Nats when they say he will not pitch in the Majors this season unless the contract demand it. Realize he will have had a long layoff from the Virgina game and mid-August. In fact, my guess is that he will not come up until June 2010 baring the totally unexpected. Never underestimate the power of delaying arbitration. When called up, he could easily be the Nats best pitchers but might not be designated the #1 by the team although the fans will consider hm the #1. By 2011, if all things fall into place, he will be the Nats official #1 pitcher.

On behalf of my client, let the bidding begin at ONE BILLION DOLLARS. He's an amazing talent, and his contract should be special.



He should be drafted #1 overall in the NFBC main for the next 25 years assuming the Nats don't cheat their fans and cheap out by delaying the start of the most dynamic pitching career in MLB history. I believe 30-3 (the 3 losses thanks to a pitiful Nats offense) with 300 strikeouts is a reasonable expectation for 2010. He should adjust nicely and post better numbers after his rookie campaign assuming Washington can provide some run support.



Mark my words, by the end of his career the Cy Young award will be renamed... IF the proper royalty demands are met of course.

b) yes..i would be all over him in a keeper league..you never know how good he'll be, but he's worth the chance. a shame he didn't make it to the CWS and we could see him in prime time against the some of the best teams in the NCAA.



c) no..probably too early because we probably won't see a good representable sample this year.
