The Champ Is Back!

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Sat Nov 13, 2004 7:58 am

I'm happy to report that our 2004 NFBC champion, Artie Rastelli of Hoboken, New Jersey, has just signed up for the 2005 main event. Anyone who wants a shot at Artie can find him at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th! Welcome back Artie and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize. I believe we now have all of our top eight finishers from 2004 signed, sealed and delivered for 2005.

We will have a picture of Artie holding a six-foot replica of the $100,000 check on the site this week as Artie was good enough to take a picture of that in an informal presentation. We'll get that on the site for everyone to identify with our champion and will use it in all of our print ads for 2005. Artie has already cashed the real $100,000 check and I hope he's put some of it to good use already!

Again, welcome back Artie and good luck. You are a marked man from this point forward! :D

This one is for Artie and everyone else who wants to win the NFBC this year: We are honoring our 2004 champion by putting his picture on the COVER of our first Fantasy Sports Magazine issue. That one will be available to all current NFBC members via mail around Jan. 22 and will hit newsstands nationwide Feb. 1, 2005. Artie, you look mighty nice on that cover holding the check for $100,000. The crystal trophy will come to you at a presentation in New York on March 19th!

By the way, for all you owners gunning for Artie's title, you can see what he looks like in the rotation of pictures on the home page. We haven't found a permanent home for his mug yet, but I'll work with STATS to get him pictured all alone soon. For now, he's a rotating champion who is returning to defend his title in New York.
