2005 NFBC Roll Call

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Nov 15, 2004 11:14 am

Even though we announce every single NFBC signup on a separate thread, I thought it would be best to do a listing of NFBC members for all to see each and every day as the countdown to Draft Day continues. I'm convinced that we'll fill up all 300 spots for the NFBC's main event, so let the countdown for the spots continue. Since many of you guys made friends with your league members last year, here's a person-by-person list of those NFBC owners who are signed, sealed and delivered for our 2005 event:

No, you haven't done anything wrong yet rookie! Unfortunately, our programmer here at KP is taking WAAAAAAYYYYY too long to add those two checkboxes to the registration page, but I have been told they will be active this morning. May I just go on record as saying I HATE computer programmers and THEIR schedules. :D Anyway, the guys who have signed up for the $650 leagues already did so via the phone as I signed them up. But I have a feeling once those registration pages are available online, we'll get plenty of signups for those Auction Leagues. I'll make a formal announcement to everyone once my lovable programmer here turns the switch on for them. :D Thanks for your patience.

2005 NFBC Roll Call

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Nov 23, 2004 7:45 am

The prize structure for the $650 Auction Leagues is as follows:

12-Team AL-Only Leagues:

1st Place: $3,500

2nd Place: $1,300

3rd Place: $1,050

13-Team NL-Only Leagues:

1st Place: $3,800

2nd Place: $1,400

3rd Place: $1,100

I haven't posted the Mixed Auction League payout yet because I wasn't sure how many teams to shoot for. I think we'll keep it similar to the NFBC and shoot for 15 teams at $650 each. Under that scenario, I'll propose this payout structure:

1st Place: $4,250

2nd Place: $1,750

3rd Place: $1,300

Fair enough?

ok greg, although i like leagues that pay for 4th place b/c it keeps them more active...would you be up for paying 4th place if we end up with 16 teams instead of 15? then maybe 4th place could just get next year's paid for??

I like the one in four odds of winning something, too. I think that's possible if we hit 16! Thanks for joining the group and stay active on the Message Boards. We need more opinions on these boards! :D

I've added the list of players who have said they would compete in a $5,000 entry fee auction league or draft league in the post above since that is getting more and more serious attention. I'll continue to update that list going forward here and on the Ultimate NFBC thread.

2005 NFBC Roll Call

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Dec 07, 2004 3:15 am

Sounds good Eric, and Eddie Gillis is also interested in doing either one as well. We'll keep taking signups on these $5K leagues and see how they finish up. It's possible we could fill just one of these or be fortunate enough to get one Auction League and one Draft. That would be WAY cool.

2005 NFBC Roll Call

This is a worthy bump for the list above since we've had seven signups in the last 24 hours. Not bad for early December, so check it out. Keep the signups coming and remember we won't charge your credit card until Feb. 1.

As you can see from the NFBC signups and from our past history, those on the East Coast sign up later than those who have to make travel plans to Las Vegas. I wouldn't totally give up the idea that we can get a Mixed Auction League ($650) filled in New York. In fact, I'm convinced we'll get at least one in New York, but you never know. I don't plan on doing a phone hookup with the auction leagues, so I think your options are taking a chance on New York if you definitely want to do the Mixed Auction League or join us in Las Vegas and sign up soon.

I don't know about sheep in Chicago. It's mighty cold in the Midwest right now and all the sheep are indoors. I'm not sure they will be outside come March. :D

2005 NFBC Roll Call

This thread was worth bumping as we announce that the rock star Meat Loaf has officially joined the NFBC. Meat will be drafting again in the main event in Las Vegas and is a partner with Bruce Barnard in the NL Auction League ($1,250). Welcome back, Meat.

We also have filled seven full leagues in the main event with 13 left. Keep the signups coming and go to the first post on this thread on page 1 to see all of the names of those who have officially signed up to date. We're getting closer to Draft Day, so keep the signups coming.

Make sure you check out the first post on this thread for the complete listing of all officially signed up NFBC members for 2005. We now have over 120 members signed up for the main event, or more than eight full leagues. It's a great start, leaving us with less than 180 spots available. Keep 'em coming and once the field is full we'll select the leagues and draft positions, giving you time to prepare for your draft spots!

Are you talking about Mock Draft Central.com? If so, yes you need to add that Flash to your computer. Contact Jason Pliml at [email protected] for more information. If it's the NFBC site you're talking about, shoot me an e-mail at [email protected].

2005 NFBC Roll Call

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Jan 12, 2005 3:09 pm

Reaching our 200th overall official signup on Jan. 12th (not counting the NFBC Ultimate Leagues) deserves a bump. Remember, we had 232 total signups all of last year for baseball. We also have 135 officially signed up for the NFBC's main event, which means nine full leagues and room for 11 more. Gotta like the early rush to sign up this year.

Check out all the signups on the first post of this thread. I'll update that one everytime we get a signup.

Just cause I had nothing better to do for a few minutes I checked to see how many states we had represented in the NFBC so far for 2005 and we are at 26 states.

This deserves a bump as we now officially have 10 full leagues for the NFBC's main event. We have 150 spots filled and 150 left (see the first post here for the whole list). Don't wait too long folks as we just got six more signups today for the main event. Awesome.
