Post by Tom Kessenich » Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:51 am

Congratulations to Glenn Lowy, whose Glenneration X team in Las Vegas Legaue 11 led the way in the NFBC last week with 3,370 points.

Mark Teixeira (.417-2-4), Nyjer Morgan (.529, 4 SBs), Miguel Montero (.583-2-3) and Luis Castillo (.385, 3 runs) had good weeks at the plate. Joba Chamberlain and Chris Carpenter combined for two wins and 15 Ks to lead the pitching staff.

Congratulations again to Glenn and good luck to everyone in the NFBC this week.

Glenn Lowy Is Week 15 NFBC Winner

Glenn Lowy admits he wasn’t sure what to expect when he dove into the world of high-stakes fantasy baseball for the first time this year.

But as far as first-time experiences go, he’s had few complaints about the way his NFBC season has unfolded. That was certainly the case last week when his Glenneration X team in Las Vegas Legaue 11 led the way in the NFBC last week with 3,370 points.

“There’s a long way to go and a ton of very experienced, knowledgeable and talented owners in the way,” he said. “But if my team can keep up this pace, you never know. At least I’m in striking distance.”

Lowy’s Draft Day plan was to snare Mark Teixeira with his first-round pick. But when Jimmy Rollins fell to him with the 13th pick, he couldn’t resist grabbing the talented Phillies shortstop. Fortunately for Lowy, Teixeira was still on the board when his turn came in the second round.

“With those two, plus some other picks that I really liked, I felt very satisfied with my team leaving the draft,” Lowy said. “ Unfortunately, the slow starts of both Tex and JRoll, along with several other of my core hitters and some brutal early pitching performances left me in the Bottom 20 overall as late as the second half of May.

“Since then, the key guys on my team (Rollins, Teixeira, Josh Beckett and Aramis Ramirez) started to play up to their draft positions. I’ve been steadily moving up the standings in both my league and overall. It all seemed to come together the last two weeks as I finished 15th (in the weekly standings) and then first.”

Lowy is 43 and married with a 20-month-old son who he believes will be the future quarterback of the New York Jets. He lives on Long Island and is a Senior Project Manager for Developer/Builder.

Way to go, Glenn.

You are now officially addicted and your life will never be the same.

Our kids were grown and moved out by 43, good luck with the opposite tact.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Thanks Doughboys.....

My wife and I tried for many years before we were lucky enough to have our son.

I was about to write how I wouldn't trade him for a million fantasy championships....and then he had a meltdown because we put away his balloon before putting him to bed. Now I'd have to think about it......just kidding.

By the way, did I mention that he's the future quarterback of the Jets?
