Box Score Stuff

Or, to shorten the title, the bs stuff.
There really are alot of MB'ers that don't want to post. Thanks for the pm's.
Anyway, just some thoughts while looking at last night's box scores
KC-LAA
Our boy Brandon Wood is blowing it again. Given another chance with injuries, Wood had three k's last night, while going 0-5, he is 0fer his last 11. AAAA label is calling again.
How lucky are Angel hitters? It doesen't get much better than a dh vs. the likes of Ponson and Chen.
CHI-PHI
Ryan Howard had 6 plate appearances last night and never hit a ball. He k'd four times, while walking twice.
Alfonzo Soriano is hitting .421 since the all-star break
NYM-WASH
David Wright is a mess. Really, the Mets would be better off leading him off while Reyes is gone. All the "experts" who say Wright will be better in the second half have not seen his swing. Any ball that is hit for any power is hit to the right side. Citi Field changed his swing and it ain't pretty.
BAL-NYY
Roberts, Jones, Markakis, Reimold, Wieters. There is alot to like about the Baltimore future. Trading Scott and Huff and dfa'ing Mora would be good ideas.
Nick Swisher is 4 for his last 27 and hasn't hit a hr in July.
MIL-PIT
Garrett Jones is already second among NL rookies with 8 hr's. Ryan Doumit is hitting .221 and is 6-32 since coming back
SEA-DET
Ryan Langerhans homered last night. Eight years in the bigs. He's never hit more than .267, never hit more than eight home runs, never stolen more than three bases. Mediocre would be a compliment.
CLE-TOR
Hafner went 0-5 with three k's, the surprising thing was that he didn't get hurt. In a related matter, Kevin Millar dh'ed for Toronto, he's hitting .231...231! DFA him for crissakes! Snider or some other kid can't hit .231 for a team going nowhere?
SF-ATL
I love names. Is there a whiter name for a black man than Fred Lewis? By the same token, is there a blacker name for a white ballplayer than Reggie Willits?
Anyway, Lewis was projected by many to be a 20-20 man this year. When he gets eight more rbi, he'll be a 20-20 rbi-runs guy.
A 1b with four home runs? The less than mighty Casey Kotchman.
BOS-TEX
Ian Kinsler became a 20-20 guy last night. Does he get hurt or go 30-30? Stay tuned.
Jacoby Ellsbury is one for his last 16. His last multi-hit game was July 7
STL-HOU
I'll pick on the bully. Pujols is only hitting .278 vs lefties this year and only has four home runs in July.
Jason Michaels is still in the Bigs? The right handed Langerhans! Michaels has never hit more than 10 home runs or stolen more than 10 bases. Congrats to Michaels, Langerhans, and their agents.
TB-CWS
Jeff Niemann's ERA is 3.61. Next time the Rays consider skipping a starter it should be anybody but Niemann, he has won his last five starts.
AJ Pierzynski is hitting .302. He doesen't get enough credit. If his season were to end today, he would still end up in the higher echelon for catchers at the end of the season.
ARI-COLO
Go to Yahoo sports and look at Jon Rauch picture. Q, picture please . He looks like the guy on the side of the road with an axe in the beer commercial.
Chris Ianetta is hitting .230 with 11 homers. AJ Pierzynski has 10 homers and hitting .302....What were their adp's?
FLA-SD
Padre team rule: "If you suck, you stay". Adrian Gonzalez likes San Diego, his average is down to .251
Statistical anomaly for the numbers guys: Dan Uggla is walking more, striking out less, and has a career low average of .228
MIN-OAK
Delmon Young has three home runs, all solo's. He has five multi rbi games in four months. He makes 1,100,000 dollars. One dollar for each ground ball he hits.
Kurt Suzuki is 3-25 since the break.
CIN-LA
Encarnacion had his owners going. 7-7 with two home runs after the break, since then he is 1-11.
Russ Martin has 8 sb's, 7 of them were in May.
Between them, Martin and David Wright have seven home runs.
Ryan Theriot has seven home runs.
