Dan and Evan Satinoff have been in the NFBC for the past five years. They love the event because they believe it attracts the cream of the fantasy baseball crop.

Last week, nobody stood taller than the two of them.

Their SlackerBrothers team in New York League 6 topped the NFBC field last week with 3,264 points as Ryan Howard (.393-5-12), Matt Kemp (.360-3-8-2), Brian Roberts (.381, 7 runs) and Troy Tulowitzki (.387, 6 RBIs) led the way offensively. Adam Wainwright won twice with 12 strikeouts while Fernando Rodney and Trevor Hoffman combined for five saves to lead the pitching staff.

“The past five weeks things started to come together and Week 21 it finally happened,” Dan said. “! Ryan Howard continued to get hot. Matt Kemp played like a first-round pick and Ryan Roberts has been a nice FAAB pick up. Pitching has been lights out and Week 21 was more of the same.”

Howard’s big week must have been extremely satisfying to Evan, who lobbied hard for the team to draft the Phillies’ slugger back in March.

“On draft day, I really wanted to go with Ryan Braun, but Evan convinced me to take a chance on Ryan Howard,” Dan said. “ We are pretty happy with the move and it looks like it will pay off as Howard's average continues to creep up. At the beginning of the year, I was pretty down on my team. A-Rod still on the DL, C.M. Wang and Dice-K pitching like undrafted high schoolers and I was hoping that Big Papi finds his steroid connection... fast.

“But the pitchers I really focused on during the draft have come through. Carpenter, Wainwright and Felix the King are pitching all like Cy Young award winners. During the draft I knew we were light on closers, but Rodney has been a major bright spot. All and all we are really happy so for far with how our team has produced and looking forward to the end of year push.

Dan is married and lives in Alexandria, VA. He works as an account executive for Tech Data Corporation. Evan is married and lives outside Dayton, Ohio. His third son is due to arrive this week.
