Hi Tom or Anyone,

As one who's interested in making the main event leap, what's the prize for winning a week? Thanks.

The combination of good hitting and good pitching can do wonders. For Bruce Bevacqua, it meant a rise to the top of the NFBC standings for Week 24.

Miguel Olivo (.353-4-13-7) led the way offensively as Bevacqua’s team led the way in the NFBC last week with 3,260.5 points. Rajai Davis (.379-0-7, 4 SBs), Troy Tulowitzki (.391-4-5) and Carlos Beltran (.400) also had good weeks at the plate. Ubaldo Jimenez and Brett Anderson combined for two wins and 24 strikeouts to lead the pitching staff.

“Last week I had a great showing from Olivo, Davis and Tulowitzki,” Bevacqua said. “I also had solid pitching again from Greinke, Lilly, Feldman, Tommy Hunter and Brett Anderson.”

Bevacqua’s Draft Day plan was to target offense early, which he did by selecting Carlos Beltran, Prince Fielder, Shane Victorino, Joey Votto and Tulowitzki with his first five picks. After that, he looked to go for balance after that. He hit on a value pick late when he selected Russell Branyan iin the 26th round.

The 53-year-old Bevacqua lives in New Milford, NJ with his wife Kathy. The two have been married for 16 years and have two daughters.
