Well, there are only two weeks left in this marathon we call the MLB season. Two weeks until we crown our sixth annual NFBC champion and once again it will be a first-time winner. That NFBC overall race is going to go right down to the final pitch, I can just tell. And remember if any division needs a Monday tie-breaker game, that game is part of the MLB regular season and all of the stats count towards your NFBC standings as well.
Lindy Hinkelman just took over the NFBC main event overall lead today and he's moved closer to the NFBC Online Championship lead as well. If he does the unthinkable and wins both overall titles, he will receive an additional $75,000 cash prize. Incredible that he could be first among 390 main event participants and second among 600 NFBC Online Championship participants. Great job Lindy.
But the tag team of Win Murray and Ray Murphy aren't conceding anything in the main event and Kenny Magner and Frank Cracolice have been in first place in the NFBC Online Championship for a long, long time and they aren't about to concede the $40,000 grand prize there. Both races are definitely going to go down to the wire.
As I look over our 111 leagues, it looks like the vast majority are going to go down to the wire. Good luck all and may the best teams win.
Tom will be in touch with everyone who has a shot at prize money this week and making sure you have all of the paperwork needed for us to pay you on time. If you already have a W-9 on file with us from past winnings, there's no need to do anything else. We are set to pay you in full and in a quick manner, consistent with NFBC payments in the past.
But if you're a first-time winner with us or know you don't have a W-9 on file yet, and you feel good about your chances of winning, contact Tom at [email protected] and we'll e-mail you a W-9 form and get everything taken care of before the season concludes. It's important that we get the W-9 on file before we can send out your winnings, so let's plan ahead and get these on file ASAP.
Good luck to everyone down the stretch and thanks to all for making 2009 such a great success. We look forward to paying out over $1 million in prize money in October.
Oh, and we're already working on the details for NFBC 2010. Our goal is to have the new web site live when the season concludes and our plans in place. Stay tuned because it's going to be a lot of fun with more ways to win more money than you've ever experienced before. We'll discuss soon enough, but let's finish this season first.
