Tom Z West:

Way to go CATCH! I had no doubt that with the $$$ on the line you would raise your game to a new level. Kudo's on your fantastic week and best of luck closing out this fine season!

I hope this run of first's does not stop with your initial Weekly victory in the Main Event. Love to see you step up and grab the check for the first time come next March!

Make sure you stay on Greg and Tom for your well deserved "PRIZE" for winning this honor.

Thank you guys for the congratulatory wishes. The CDM community is really strong in these NFBC games whether it be main event, online or satellite leagues.

The week was basically average until Friday and Saturday. The trifecta of Vazquez/Correia/Peavy giving me 25 innings, 0.36 era, 0.76 whip, 22 Ks and most importantly 3 WINs on Friday night. The bats came out on Saturday: .450 avg, 17 Rs, 6 HRs, TWENTY-SIX ribbies! Oddly, everyone contributed Saturday except for ARod. He decided to hang with the pitchers on Friday going a perfect 3-3, 3 runs, hr and 4 RBIs and 3 steals including the so-called "phantom" steal

Good luck to all, finish strong here as well as the Diamond Challenge. Thanks again.

So if they take the steal back, can we give CHILDS the title?

Thanks for the play-by play. ;)

Winning the week has lost its luster when all you get is a forced post.

I know times are tough, but this thread is just going through the motions without a prize.

C'mon 2010...be "the year of sponsorship!!!" :D

...anyone offended by my late night posts can pound salt! ;)

...anyone offended by my late night posts can pound salt! ;) Have no fear Lance, we have prizes for our main event weekly winners. We have a list of autographed memorabilia items we'll allow them to pick from, coming soon. Congrats Tom and the 24 other weekly winners and your prizes will be forthcoming, albeit later than they should have.

And you are correct Lance. The weekly prizes in the past were sponsored by friends of ours. This year we thought we could get a sponsor for this as well and kept talking and talking with a company that just never came through. Now we're working with Fanball.com to finalize some goodies and we'll have those to you soon.

So go get Week 26. There's a prize at the end of the rainbow, I promise.

One of Tom Zarogiannos’ priorities in the NFBC this year was to lock up two first-round talents with his opening picks in the draft. had one goal

When Alex Rodriguez slid to the second round in Las Vegas League 3, Zarogiannos was able to accomplish his goal. And in Week 25, that mission accomplished was one of the main reasons why no team in the event fared better.

With Rodriguez and first-round pick Miguel Cabrera leading the way, Tom’s Catch Us If You Can team in Las Vegas League 3 led the way in the NFBC last week with 3,247 points.

Rodriguez (.350-3-8-3), Cabrera (.280-2-8), Denard Span (.500, 7 RBIs), Adam Lind (.409-2-6) and Juan Uribe (.414-2-6) led the way at the plate. Wandy Rodriguez combined for two wins and 23 strikeouts to lead the pitching staff.

“My Draft Day plan was to land Alex Rodriguez in the second round,” Zarogiannos said. “I felt that getting him along with Miguel Cabrera, I scored two first-round selections and that would lead to a solid draft.

“The draft is only one part of this long baseball season. Getting players off the Waiver Wire plays an important part of this game as well. I was fortunate to land Joel Pineiro, Kevin Correia and Juan Rivera. I want to stress that it is important to budget your FAAB dollars.”

Zarogiannos is 40 years old and lives in Las Vegas with his wife Kelly and two children. He is a poker dealer at Planet Hollywood.
