Top 5 lessons learned from this season:
1. Check local papers again and again and AGAIN prior to draft. I thought I had done this but did not get/see the memo regarding Pinella's choice of closer being Gregg over Marmol.
2. Keep accurate track of picks during draft. Mistakenly crossed Varitek off my list of catchers when he was still available. Not that he was star caliber, but he was a little better than George Kottaras at pick 30.
3. Somewhere, there is a methodology that can accurately predict Bronson Arroyo's performance, but I don't know what it is.
4. 27 isn't always the magical age for performance. What happened to Kelly Johnson?
5. I'll take my chances with the H1N1 flu, but I sure as Hell don't want to contract valley fever. Will Conor Jackson play again?
