What are the thoughts about making this league more than the draft and a couple key free agent pick-ups? We just passed the rule making my other league a 6x6 league taking OPS and holds into the mix.

I remember back coming into year 2 of the NFBC, Greg talked about using OB%, which nobody really liked. But with OPS, we can account for walks and for extra base hits. These are both 2 very great stats that shouldnt be overlooked and changes the dynamic quite a bit.

Using holds just plain makes sense. This opens the door to many more players and brings strategy to all new heights through the FA pool and scoring strategy all together. This gives people who may be out a little a chance to try different techniques to get back into the mix.

We may need to expand pitchers that you start to 10 or 11. This would also maybe prevent all the flyers people take on rookies that just get stashed for the majority of the season because they need to keep pitchers on the bench for matchups. Again - this makes the weekly FA pick-ups more exciting and strategy intensive.

I have been out of the league for 2 years until I got back in this year. After winning $$ for the first time, I am more excited than ever for the draft. BUT - if this exact topic has been addressed in the past - I am sorry if I missed it.

I would love to hear thoughts FOR and AGAINST it and hope that this doesnt fall on deaf ears, getting forgotten. If nothing else, maybe an email from Greg explaining both sides of staying 5x5 or going 6x6 could go out. Then let the customers decide by vote? If it isnt 2/3 to change, we keep it the same.

Im not for evolving for the sake of evolution. IM for evolving when you can take a WONDERFUL product (which the NFBC is) and making even better.

With baited breath, I wait for the boos, but I hope there are people that agree with me.

Booo I guess there isn't as much interest as you hoped. I don't think it makes this game better.

I guess not - I thought there was some real merit to this. OPS was fairly obvious I thought. Taking batting avg, OB% (which people have been talking about for years), and slugging together just seemed to make sence.

I agree. I just don't think there is much interest in this.

Holds are an agents statistic, sort of like quality starts.

You seem so excited about it, I wish I could give some kind of support, but I think you're facing an uphill battle. :(

From what I've seen in the past, some players want to change the categories to something that is tougher to look at or requires more thought to figure out. Maybe they have had success in games with those changes and they feel they have an edge. What ends up happinning is the players who already have an edge now have a larger edge.

The casual players might like it at first, but over time with no success they tend to play a game where they feel they have a better chance to win.

Maybe people didnt see that I am a 5 Star rated member and need to understand that what I say is gold. :D

People in other venues have come to me to make their dreams and ideas better. You may have heard of some:

The Snuggie - keeping people warm and functional everywhere

The Fanny Pack - allowing America's finest to carry their smokes, knives, and dignity around their waist

The SlapChop - cutting is for suckers

Blu Blockers - keeping cutting edge fashion while kicking harmful UV rays in the groin

Car bras - adding that tough look to your Fiero, Camero, Firebird, and Ford Probe while protecting it from bugs and keeping the paint job fresh while the rest of the car fades....

This is GOLD - I am 5 star rated people!

To steal a line from Gekko…..This is a Zero-Sum game.

Changing or adding the stats that we use only changes the value (worth) of the players we use. Some will increase in value, others will decrease based on what they provide.

Does using OBP over AVG really improve the game? Or does it just revalue the players that we pick and the order we pick them.
