Well, you were looking for some good news, right? From my perspective, nothing is better news than hearing the prize money is in the mail!! And we're close to delivering that news.



The NFBC season ended just last Tuesday, but we're already close to sending out the NFBC checks from St. Louis. Tom did a GREAT JOB of putting all of the winners together along with W-9's, addresses, etc., for the accounting group at Fanball. And Carol Matthews (well known to all CDM players) is quickly at it in the accounting department. She said her staff is ready to get these out sometime next week, possibly early in the week.



This is a quick turnaround and further proof that we are doing everything possible to improve the NFBC. We always tried to get out the first batch of checks by the end of October, but our one problem in the past was getting out followup checks to folks. That won't happen going forward as we'll get this first batch out next week and then do this every Friday or every other Friday depending on demand.



If you have your W-9 on file with us, you will get paid next week. If you still don't have a W-9 on file, contact Tom at [email protected] and he will get you set up with a W-9 form. If you get that form into us after next week, have no fear, you'll get paid on a timely basis.



Also, Fanball currently has a pay setup that allows CDM players to keep some of their winnings on file to pay for future contests. We are going to develop that with the NFBC and NFFC too, so be prepared for news on that front soon. I'm not sure if we can get that done right away, but that is the future goal. Your winnings would still be reported in full to the IRS, but if it helps to pay for the next event out of your current winnings we will try to accommodate that.



So look for your winnings in the mail shortly and I'll post the exact date that they go out. As long as we don't have any road bumps in the way, these checks should go out sooner than they've ever done after the conclusion of the NFBC season at any time since 2004. We GUARANTEE the prize money and we deliver it on time. You trust us with it and we will not let you down.



Congrats to all of the NFBC winners. More than $1.1 million will be paid out in 2009, counting Lindy's $75,000 cash bonus that is due from an insurance company. It's been an amazing, amazing season, but we have plans for an even better NFBC season in 2010. We've ended one season and soon we'll be saying PLAY BALL! to another season.

noice! another reason why i love the nfbc. going to vegas for the first time next year so hopefully i get to meet some of the big dogs. thanks again to all the guys running the show for another great year. you guys are A1 in my book.

Very nice, Greg and Tom. No matter how grumpy some of us may have gotten last weekend we all know without a doubt that the NFBC is the finest game around. I've known Fanball has done a great job with the CDM games and I'm glad to hear they're turning out the checks even faster for us. Thanks a bunch and I will see you guys in March.

Btw, I also wanted to say how impressed I am with the Fanball Fantasy News app for the iPhone. You guys are doing a better job than Rotoworld, in my opinion. Keep up the good work.

Ryan and Charlie were in town last night and we got everything for the new office Greg and I are going to move into soon. We're hoping we can move in within the next week. That would be great. Hopefully we'll be officially moved into the new office and have everything, including new phone numbers and emails, all switched over to our Fanball accounts in a matter of days.

Just a heads up that we met our own deadline and will be mailing out the first batch of winning NFBC checks today, almost $1 million in all. Please note that each prize winner will receive only one check; if you won for multiple teams/leagues, all prize money is summed together and one check is cut.



These checks will be mailed today in window envelopes with a return address that includes the Fanball logo and the St. Louis office address. A second batch of checks will go out tomorrow for late arrival W-9's that we received last week.



Following these first two prize check runs, we will process additional NFBC prize checks every Friday.



Kudos to Carol Matthews, Tarra Henry and the entire Fanball accounting department for this quick turnaround with our prize money. We were quick and efficient before, but we have become quicker and even more efficient with the help from our St. Louis partners. Great job everyone.



Now remember to put some of this money aside for next year's NFBC. You're going to want to invest some of those winnings with us again, I assure you.
