As of right now, I have Hanley, Pujols, A-Rod... followed by Braun and Matt Kemp

Kemp should be Top 3 in 2010.

#1 overall in previous year hardly ever repeats as the overall player the next year. just something to ponder over...

While it might be rare for last year's #1 to be next year's #1 in terms of end of season value, there are some players that are historically more likely to show up in the top-5 from year to year.

So instead of trying to predict who might be the top player come year end, maybe a safer route is to draft the player most likely to be in the top-5.

Very good point, but even if Pujols doesn't have the BEST year, you know for sure you are getting top 5 production from Pujols... who else can you say that about? I would assume you would from Hanley, but Pujols gives you such confidence not found in anyone else.
