The one drawback to this years auctions is the focus on mix leagues. I felt I was forced to do the mix league because there was not much of a choice. True I could have done the next week drafts. But still the lost of the 650 AL and NL auctions was a big lost. There were many players who loved those drafts. Rick Thomas was one who always signed up for them. But the one I really remember was the Mom of two young kids who kicked butt year after year in the NL 650 Auction. Will she do a mix auction? Who knows but the days of AL and NL leagues took a big hit from fanball!

I forgot to mention I'll be winning the auction mix this year.

In 2004, we held one $1300 AL Auction League in Las Vegas and one $1300 AL Auction League in New York. By 2009, we could not even get a $650 AL Auction League in New York and we were down to one $1300 and one $650 AL in Las Vegas. We had one $1300 NL Auction League in Las Vegas in 2004 and in 2009 we had one $1300 and one $650. We never got a single AL or NL auction league in Chicago.



So I agree, it's a loss for some of our members. But I am still keeping the $1300 AL and $1300 NL auction leagues in Las Vegas and it looks like we will fill both. We have six signed up for the $1300 AL with Jason Grey just agreeing to return and we have five already for the $1300 NL. Hopefully those who did the $650 AL and $650 NL will return in the mixed format.



It's not ideal for everyone, but it will be cool to have a national Auction Champion that we can promote and tout each year. I think the overall championship will spur growth in auction leagues, something we weren't able to do in the private league format.

[/QUOTE]I've answered this many times on different threads. I think many of the same group from last year would return for that $1300 format. Yes, I'll run it as part of the $800 Auction Championship since it is a mixed league format and allocate similar payouts within the league with the additional $7500. Let's just see if we can get 15 for New York first and then we can worry about adding a higher league payout. But we need all 15 to do this, okay?

Just a heads up that it looks like we have only THREE SPOTS LEFT for the $1300 AL-only Auction League at the Bellagio on Friday afternoon, March 26th. We now have nine signups. Eddie, Shawn said you made enough money this weekend in football to get your butt out to Las Vegas, so I added you to the list before you got shut out. 2nd: $2,800

3rd: $1,500



NL $1300:

1st: $8,100

2nd: $3,000

3rd: $1,575



I'll add the rules and these links to the registration page soon. I wasn't sure we'd run them this year, but we definitely will now in Las Vegas at the Bellagio. When they are sold out they are sold out. Then we turn our attention to the NFBC Auction Championship.
