NFBC Ultimate or NFBC Championship???
I thought that the NFBC Championship was suppose to be the top event. It looks like the Ultimate 5k leagues are becoming the priority. I thought it was about the best meeting but its becoming whatever dumbsh*t dumps 5k he is now a star. If thats the case I'll bow out of the championship and just do the $650 auctions. It seems thats where the real pros are anyway!!

NFBC Ultimate or NFBC Championship???
I can't afford 5K either Walla but I'm not jealous enough of those who can to call them dumbsh#ts. I can't decide if you're just trying to come up with an excuse to bow out after deciding you can't afford it or if you're trying to create message board controversy for entertainment purposes such as Gekko. Either way it's a dumb post

NFBC Ultimate or NFBC Championship???
John, our NFBC champion will be honored as our national champion. That person will have beaten 299 other teams and is the worthy champion. I have no idea why 15 guys who want to play for higher stakes would bother you or anyone else. The Ultimate League champion is one of many league champions we'll have and will be treated as such, but obviously the $40,000 first place prize is appealing to some people, the odds of winning (1 in 15) is appealing, and taking on some of the best players in the country is appealing. They have the discretionary income to compete, so why should that bother anyone?
The fact that the Ultimate thread is the most active today is only because we are close to filling it up. NFBC signups keep coming in each day and we're not losing anyone from the NFBC to the Ultimate League. It's just NFBC members adding to their enjoyment that weekend. It's not a detriment to the contest, it's an addition and in future years we likely will keep on adding, whether that be cities, contests or price structures.
If you win the NFBC, trust me, we'll give you your just due.

NFBC Ultimate or NFBC Championship???
I'm every bit as excited about the NFBC and beating 299 teams and I am the ultimate. Whether or not I would be crowned champion or not beating 299 teams or 14 teams doesn't mean a thing to me. Whatever. I'll gladly take home the 100k or 40k and you can call me whatever the hell you want.
Here's my preferences on some of these issues regarding the ultimate drafts though:
1. I would prefer no cell phones be allowed at all
2. limit to 2 people drafting - 3 is just too many and too crowded
3. stick to 15 teams please so we can prepare for exactly the same type of draft in both cases
4. If there was ever a fight in one my drafts it would make me sick. This is supposed to competitive but if it's that serious that you don't have fun, you shouldn't bother playing.

NFBC Ultimate or NFBC Championship???
how can someone who has a 1 in 15 chance at 4ok be perceived as dumb when the main event is 1 in 15 for 5k and 1 in 300 for 100k? you make it sound as if it's more important to have the prestige of beating the "best" in a $650 auction than winning big money. granted the risk for those in the ultimate leagues is monetarily higher, but most of them have already won cash last year. even so if someone wants to throw down the money then who are you, or any of us, to take a shot at them. and as for greg not giving enough attention to the main event, are you blind? there are numerous sign-ups every day and he's way ahead of last years numbers. bottom line is the people playing in the nfbc are playing to win money and just because some of them have more to drop on a higher stakes game doesn't mean they are the "best fantasy baseball players" just ones that deem themselves strong enough to play for higher stakes and not get rolled. now if someone were to win both the main event and the ultimate, they could strap that "best" tag onto their resume with no objections from any of us. that had to be the most uncalled for post i've read yet. get over yourself and chill out.

Hmmmm, win them both... that sounds pretty fun.
Actually, as far fetched as it sounds I think the mid and late round pickups will decide both contests and it's not beyond thought that those same 7th and 9th and 15th round steals benefit the same owner who scouted them out.
As long as Gekko doesn't win both - although it wouldn't be in the same year, he could call it his 'Gekko Slam'

Uh... let's not get gay here - that's an expression, not a marriage proposal.
