Usually I'm the one bemoaning the winter weather from the Frozen Tundra of Wisconsin. But after watching CNN today, I can't believe what I'm seeing of Snowmaggedeon. WOW. So I have to ask: Are there any weather-related stories you can tell me about from the East Coast? How many inches of snow in your area??
I'd love to know. I thought I was roughing it yesterday when my wife and I took the two youngest to an ice fishing event yesterday. I couldn't freakin' believe it when the guy who drilled the hole for us went down THREE FEET before getting through the ice. Then I knew I lived in a place that was cold. But at least it was sunny, 20+ degrees and no snow. What everyone else had was much worse.
Tell me your weather plight tonight as we all settle in for a good Super Bowl game. Thanks.

We had flurries for about 2 minutes yesterday. Forecast went from 4-8 inches on Friday morning, to 2-4 inches Friday evening, to nothing on Saturday.
Seems like mid-Atlantic and parts of PA are having a worse winter than New York/New England.

Someone PM me with directions to upload a jpg to the message boards. I'm willing to make fun of myself with a "Grumpy Old Men" photo of myself ice fishing with my boy!!

But I don't even know how to upload a jpg on my own site. Sheesh.

We awoke to temperatures in the high 50's. I cannot stand this cold weather!!!
I do miss seeing the snow and some snowboarding, but to go through a full winter, I don't think I could ever do it again. My shorts and sandals wouldn't know what to do everyday.

13 inches last weekend, and another 6-8 with lots of ice this weekend.
I went to school for a 1/2 day with no students on Wednesday, 1/2 day with students on Thursday, and we are already closed tomorrow!
I sure love teaching in the south!

The weather reports indicated that York was in the 6-12" range. I decided to drive out to York on Friday afternoon and stay the night in a motel. (Usually I would visit my mother in Downingtown and make the 60 mile drive to York on Saturday morning.) Well, instead of one foot, York got 2 feet of snow and was rendered a ghost town for much of Saturday. I was stuck for two nights before finally returning to Downingtown Sunday afternoon. I walked twice to McDonald's, which seemed to be the only place that was open. The weekend wasn't a total loss, however. I spent a lot of time on my player rankings, watched some college hoops, and probably saw every re-run of Criminal Minds and CSI: Miami!

Those people on the East Coast should move to Toronto. Haven't had a good storm since before Christmas and I can see every blade of grass on my lawn!
(Had 3+ feet on the lawn at this time last year but I've forgotten about all of that by now!)

Winter storm this morning in Memphis.
Work was canceled for today...so it gives me some time to work on my baseball projections today.
I must admit I'm enjoying the snow as we don't get snow amounts like this very often around here.

Yikes, this Snowmaggedeon 2.0 can't be any fun for those of you on the East Coast. When you're done shoveling out of this mess, let us all know how bad it really was. Glad to be in the Midwest...for once!!

Good luck everyone during this rotten, rotten winter. Just remember, pitchers and catchers report within two weeks, which means spring can't be far behind.

I think we're all ready for it.
Okay, how many inches of snow are you getting now and how much have you had in the last week? Inquiring minds want to know.

8 inches last weekend
3 inches this morning
Starting with Monday, February 1st, the last 8 days of school we have been in exactly TWICE on 2-hour delay!
And I highly doubt we will be in tomorrow.

Who would have ever thought the East Coast would get more snow than the Midwest and that there'd be more earthquakes in northern Illinois than California!!

I am in the Baltimore area and we had about 2 1/2 feet last weekend and it has been snowing since Tuesday afternoon, adding another 12-20 inches. My kids got off from school early last Friday and schools are closed through next Monday (Monday is Presidents Day). My furnace also picked a great time to quit working so we had a very cold night on Monday (fixed yesterday). After getting no snow last year, we are making up for it this year. Hopefully spring gets here soon, is it time to go to Vegas yet???

vienna virginia here. My previously cleared driveway now has a fresh 9 inches on it. After the weekends 19 inches in my driveway, this is not funny. Our street was only plowed last night and only one lane at that. The all-time seasonal snowfall record is around 48 inches set in the 1890s. After today, the record may be broken. This is already in 2nd place. And it's not valentine's day yet. Vancouver needs this snow not us.
